Heirloom's A Little Bit Of Everything - 2016 Journal

THC was a 'selling' point for me. I had never tried any of Barneys Farms seeds. The fact that I won them here on 420 from our fine, fine vendor, Herbies was also great.

Thanks Herbie!

I was expecting something a little more indica looking, but, ehh. That was just expectation on my part. We have two going from seed, the other looks identical in terms of leaf and structure. Going to clone them all this week to bring them into the seed lab...muahahaha.

I love Barney's Farm strains !

They have some great genetics and it's even better that you won them in a contest! I actually tried to order some seeds from Herbies yesterday, including the TD, but I couldn't get the order to go through even though there was plenty of cash available on the two different debit cards I tried. I'll try again next week.

Mr. K-

Sometimes you have to call your bank to tell them you want to authorize an overseas/UK transaction. Depends on the bank I think. I had to the last couple times I ordered, which was late last year.

PS - It was no big deal. They're not asking specifics, just Nation and approximate amount IIRC.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was the bank blocking it, and I did try to call the bank yesterday, but they were closed and I need to call back on Monday. I was kind of ordering on a "whim" so I'll see if I'm still as motivated to get it done on Monday. I make do for quite a long time with the clones, so it's not urgent but I'm completely OUT of seeds right now, except for a handful of good bag seeds I've saved, so I need to do something at some point. ;)

Looking great in here!! So you like the teepee :cheesygrinsmiley: I wanted something strong that would not blow away. I wanted it thin too so I would not have a huge structure... but it needed to be tall!! Hence rebar. It is heavy but thin enough to be able to push down into the ground and tall enough to accommodate a fair size plant. I want to put nylon mesh on the rebar for extra support. All I have is white. I am hoping I can locate some green mesh because it is so tall I don't want a bill board :cheesygrinsmiley: Hope your recovery goes well.

The plants are doing great Heirloom. I'll have to check out Buckshot's rebar teepee.

Laughed right out loud on the bus envisioning the mad scientist "muahahaha", head thrown back in maniacal glee. :laughtwo: Canna and nis are attempting a cross with DDA, but I don't remember the pairing. You've got rich purples already expressing in the pictured one. I can't wait for my current one to get a move on already.

Off to get labs done this morning. They were supposed to be done in October, but I wasn't particularly motivated then. I'm starting a steady CBD therapy and this'll give me a good baseline to compare. I'll have at least three months in by my next appointment in October. I know they won't be checking for a cannabinoid profile (drat!) but we'll be able to see what positive effects the therapy has given me.

If you're not including some high CBD meds in your protocol I'd encourage you to have some added in. I'd think your system would appreciate the help with inflammation, if nothing else.

Let me go check out Buckshot's journal. Later baby. :hugs:

Just stopping in to say hello but I'm beginning to feel as though I'm causing you grief instead and that certain is not my intention... I pray you will continue your path with wonderful gains... But I don't want you to feel pushed on your own journal... Just know I love you and may God glass you... I'm sorry for the grief I have caused... ....:circle-of-love:

Looking great man..I was kinda expecting to see bad, from a previous post but damn healthy and alive.. Only gotta concentrate on transitioning that soil, which ever method you use for flowering, and big buds are a certainty.. Looking great man ... :passitleft:

You've caused me no grief, D, nor am I feeling pushed.

I AM happy that you are feeling well enough to make it around the site and say hello :circle-of-love: The procedure is today, correct?

Thanks man. Had not seen you in a while, was wondering if all was well.

The plants just aren't performing like I had hoped. I knew from the start that this garden soil mix could be an issue. I contemplated adding perlite, but decided to run it as is. Should have mixed in the perl. It stays too wet too long and limits feeding options, which could make transition a pain because I use a lot of liquid ferts for the different flowering stages. Roots aren't searching like I wanted. My bad. I decided against aeration thinking that it would make it hard to keep them wet enough when they got bigger.

We've only REALLY watered twice this year, once with Fish Hydro and once with seaweed. Because of the excess moisture, lately we've been giving 1 gallon of solution (whatever the mix may be) and applying it to 3 sqft. The next day it gets 1 gallon on the opposite side of the plant. Then another area the next day. Max 5 gal/wk until (and if) they ever start drinking heavily. We've already started getting the transition feedings in the soil.

If you can, Foliar feed a good dose of potash etc.. Even just once a week watering can feeding over the whole plant, have it dripping wet..

No Pic Update...just blah, blah, blah....

In fact no reason to read it all unless you want to make feminized seeds. :thumb:

The status of feminized seed projects....

Yesterday it was noticed that some seed pods are already opening on the Blue Dream. Two seeds were plucked. Fully developed and dark with patterns. She has a little less than two weeks left before harvest. Looking good for the seeds!

Sib1 Dark Devil Auto fem seeds.....check
S1 HSO Blue Dream pheno 1 fem seeds.....check
Hybrid fem seeds of the above.....check

That's more checks than I thought I would have in this category, this year.

Fruit Punch is next up on making S1 seeds. The STS has been sprayed twice now. First the day before flip, and again one week later (yesterday). The seed host plant is vegged up, healthy and just waiting another week...maybe two....before she gets flipped too. I decided to pop another DDA Sib1 seed in hopes of it catching some fruit punch pollen. Devils Punch Bowl anyone????

For the fruit punch, I've decided to spray the STS 1 time per week until pollen sacks are nearly open. Maybe 4 weeks, we'll see how long she takes to sack up.

The (current) STS recipe/procedure is as follows:

Part A = 1 gram Silver Nitrate dissolved into 60ml distilled water
Part B = 6.25 grams Sodium Thiosulfate Pentahydrate dissolved into 240ml distiller water

Mix part A into part B stirring rapidly. You don't have to mix all of it up at this point. I mix smaller quantities from the part A and part B, but the ratio must remain 1 part A to 4 parts B. I mixed 20ml part A into 80ml part B and kept the rest for future use.

So now you have STS concentrate that must be diluted, lest you burn the plant. 5:1 is the ratio I am currently trying. That's 5 parts distilled water to 1 part STS concentrate.

My 100ml total concentrate mixes with 500ml water to make 600ml spray-able solution.

We soak the plant from top to bottom, inside, upside down. Heck, If I had a vat of STS, I would just dunk it. Sprayed twice on spray day. Once mid day and she's kept away from bright light. Once again before lights out and she's put away. That 600ml spray-able is 5-6 weeks worth for one plant at one dual soaking per week. Enough for 10-12 or so full spray soakings on a dense 12"ish indica. We tend to use about 50ml per spray session. Wispy, leggy sativa like strains use less.

We have not tried STS on just one branch. We've found it easiest to handle a whole small plant in a #1 pot, who's purpose is only to produce pollen. I won't be asking them to reverse some branches and bear seed on others anymore. Much easier to pull the whole small plant from the tent, spray it all over in another room and keep it out of the bright light etc. I'm sure even smaller plants would be fine, solo cup size. You really don't need a pollen plant as big as we're making.

:thanks:

Well this was a delightful find. Devil's Punch Bowl indeed! That'd deliver quite a punch. :laughtwo:

This was a good read and it's going to come in handy someday. Thanks.

Hope it goes well bud... :passitleft:
