I was looking in the Sercurity topic in how to grow Marijuana about heat signature. The artical was written about hps lights and I was wondering about the heat signature of the led lights

heat signature is normally something you worry about, if you have a couple 1000 watt lights or more, and venting directly outside. very easy to see that.
or if your whole house is hot therefore you attic is hotter than the houses around you. typically a 1000 watter in the basement would go unnoticed. even more unnoticed if you filter your exhaust, and vent into cold sections of the house. (plus saves on the heating bill!)
as far as led's go. the lights themselves run nice and cool, and most of the heat comes out the back of the unit. if you were to look at it directly with thermal vision, it would probably look like an old stereo amplifier.
if you are that paranoid about the whole thermal radar thing... best bet is to find a way to cool everything down without sending it straight outside via a 6" duct. and wrap your grow room with the thermal cancelling poly.
but if you are thinking of LED. it doesnt sound like you are going to be running a big grow house... so.. really. you should be fine. personal stashes typically go undetected. normally the biggest threat to your garden, is loose lips. keep it personal, keep it small enough, and you shouldnt have issues.
