I am going away in a week and am wondering whether to harvest now with a 1 week dry or harvest in two weeks when I get back?

Pistils are crinkled up and you’ve got mostly cloudy with some amber so plant looks pretty much done. Maybe low & slow fridge curing - caution, it’s a very long thread but first page should get you there Low & Slow fridge curing
Thanks mate. I thought the same. Some people saying it’s not done but I thought that the mostly cloudy couple amber was ready and the pistils are pretty much absorbed. Don’t want to degrade too much thc over next 2 week

I did just that a few years ago... was going away for 2 weeks so chopped and put in paper bags in the fridge. Worked perfectly. Follow the instructions on weight for each bag dont overfill.

Since vacation the fridge was empty so perfect.... didn't stink up the fridge either.

Your plants look ready now.

You can just let them dry on the vine too thats another option. I've done that too it works and they dry slower than when I chop them down. Its just a little depressing when you come home to a dead plant in the pot but the weed will be fine and usually takes longer than a week to dry that way.

Id do the low n slow. Just pointing out another option for ya.

True that on what Glookies said, they dry much slower on the vine but.... on a thick bushy plant you gotta spread out that canopy otherwise it’s a lot of damp biomass hanging in one spot. Fridge might still be better. Some do jars in fridge normally I use paper bags but idk since you won’t be there to check.
Think I’ll chop tomorrow. Let it do a nice slow dry over a week and if it’s not fully dry I’ll take the jars with me and dry it away for the last day or two. Thanks for the afvice

'Dry Low & Slow' in the fridge. I have switched over to doing the drying stage in paper bags in the fridge and have not looked back.

My recommendation would be to take care of the harvest the day before leaving. Waiting till the day the trip starts might create a problem with how much time is available. Cut and trim as usual. Leave the buds on the stem, especially if that is how you like to dry them. Put the buds in brown paper bags and roll the top over but leave it somewhat loose so there are openings to allow a bit of air exchange. Also the brown paper itself allows some air and moisture to exchange through the paper itself.

Do not pack the bags tight with buds. Leave the contents a bit loose. I will pick the bag up and shake it and should be able to hear the trimmed flowers move around. Put the bags in the fridge. There should be a bit of room around each one. This allows air to move over the bags picking up the moisture that is leaving the flowers.

Everything dries so slow and evenly. Yes, it is slow. Yes, it will dry. Done right we would find out that it still is not dry but that is why it is called "Low and Slow". It does take up to two weeks to dry. At that point I put the buds into jars and do the cure stage as I usually do.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun.
