Growing Outside and Inside - Hybrid Setup

Is it possible to leave plants outside for the 12 hours of sunlight and bring them in for the remainder of the hours to keep them in veg state? Would the changes in temperature, climate, humidity, wind, anything like that effect the growth in a negative way or will it remain steady??
