Lower light levels are fine while it recovers. Once you see lots of healthy new growth you can worry about increasing the light.
Not sure what that is.

So it controls 8 things with one timer? I guess your plugs are so big over there you need a huge box like that!

Yes correct and no if u try plug 4 lights into a extension lead would most properly melt the thing

As long as the timer can deal with that kind of load it does simplify things when running more than one light.

This 8-plug version of the Timer Box can power 8 lights of up to 600 watts or 6 x 1000w. Each plug has its own built-in switch too, so any light can be controlled separately from the others. A robust hanging bracket is also included, allowing you to mount the Timer Box securely either on a wall or other suitable area.
What Bill said, and the timer/box doesn't know what the total wattage is you will be running through it, so you have to make sure you're under the max. I mean maybe 1000w is fine, but can it take 8 600w hps fixtures (4800w)? Only the manufacturer can tell you that (if they made the box as well as the timer).
It's the watts and the size of the extension cord.
Coatings and ends.
230 is fine if done right.
But extension cords are temporary, not a permanent solution for anything.
Proper wiring and receptacles are always the best way to go.
