Figured id start one of these things...since i enjoy reading them I hope someone else enjoys my grow! I have grown before - only a single Betty Boo Auto-flower blossomed, about 16 inches high. It was marvelous. Anyways, this one is being grown in a custom/homemade box i built. The cab has two chambers, one for veg and a fruiting chamber. Ill throw in some pictures soon - Its not 100% yet so once I'm done I'll upload them.

Both plants are looking pretty good. I had some nute/PH burn when they were just a youngin, but have bounced back wonderfully. I currently only have two plants. I figured that I would use these two as a "test run" while i dial in the cab with the humidity and temp. I am a legal grower, and where I live, the temperature is about 85F all year (not a bad thing, but we have the highest electric prices in the country), so heat is a huge problem, not to mention the electric bill to battle it.

Any and all constructive remarks welcome! Im always looking to learn...


What strain is it? - Tangerine Dream and Bag Seed. The TD and BS.
Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? What percentages? - The TD is Sativa dom. Not sure the percentage. The BS is most likely Indica or a Indica dom hybrid.
Is it in Veg or Flower stage? - Veg stage. 2 weeks in. 24/0 light schedule.
If in Veg... For how long? - 2 weeks veggie
Indoor or outdoor? - Indoor grow cab
Soil or Hydro? - Hydro - homemade ebb and flow
Size of light? - 100w flouro for veg and clones (when its time). 600w HPS in flowering.
it aircooled? - Yes. Sealed hood for the HPS, with 400CFM hydrofarm inline fan. Also have window A/C unit in room.
Temp of Room/cab? - Between 75F - 85F inside cab, both chambers. Ambient room temps vary between 73F-85F
RH of Room/cab? - Between 50%-65%
PH of media or res? - 5.0- 6.5 - This area has been difficult for me. Small res. Gearing up for a slightly larger res.
Any Pests ? - None!
How often are you watering? - On a timer for every 6 hours for 30 minutes, for 4 times in a 24 hour period.
Type and strength of ferts used? - Using GH complete pack. Been keeping it under 600ppm. Res change's when i can no longer control the PH

Quick Update: Pictures tomorrow or night.

6/15 - Trimmed some big ass fan leaves from both plants that were covering the undergrowth. Def not aggressive, they had to be dark green to come off, so no light green newbies. They are looking good - im going to have them in for one more week and flower. Should be fun.

PH has been around 6.5 all the time - even when i put in PH down. This small res is wacky sometimes. Ill put in 1ml, and the thing drops to around PH of 4. I put in half of that, and the damn thing doesnt move from 6.5.

PPM - about 950 give or take. I have all these written down in my calender. My tap water is about 250 anyways - so i think around 650ish PPM for the nutes.

Temps - no higher than 83 during the day and about 76 at night. Seems to be about perfect.

Alrighty then. I just put my lil darlings in flower today 6/22.

PPM: 1001
PH: 6.5 still... dunno why it loves that damn PH so much. I just purchased a electronic PH tester tho, so now i can accurately tell the exact PH instead of that damn color vial thing.

I trimmed the lil shit about 4 days before this picture. I wish i took a picture of the trimming for before and after. guess you live and learn right? Next time!

On another note. I was looking into the Rasberry Pi monitor system today and it looks pretty neat. The only thing is that its not really...done and you have to build your Pi, which i THINK i could do, but a bit taken back by the complexity of it all. Its like an automated grow log with cameras. Ill try and find the link again and post. But have you guys ever ventured into this with success? Or is it just a stupid little hobby thing that only die hard whatevers do?

And so it begins...the first day of flowering. I have NO idea how big these guys will get, so im hoping as i start to flower them now, then they wont get too tall. They have quite a few nodes on them so i hope plenty buds. Anyways! Here are the babies - there is something going on with them now - its wierd. They are all green as hell, yet the ends on some older leaves are curling and VERY brittle, but still very green.

Since i first turned on the HPS - the temps have gone up to 87...for about 1-2 hours when i first turn the lights on, but then going to about 78-80. During the night/dark period she has gone down to about 75.

PPM- 965 - with my tap about 250 of that 950
PH - 6.9 - put some PH down in, made it 6.3 today. I know its not optimal, but im trying to gauge this since the res is a bit bigger by about 5 gallons then the vegg chamber.

And the overall grow..

***The one on the RIGHT, is Tangerine Dream and the left is BagSeed. The Tangerine Dream is a bit shorter, as i tried to FIM it - not exactly precision cutting... so i missed the missed cutting technique.***

So i think the problem may be - high temps...even tho its only a little while. And/or some kind of nute burn, but i wouldnt think so as the PPM has been basically the same for about 2 weeks. Let me know what you think pleassse!

Doesnt look like its any worse or any new stuff is happening so i assume it was from something small and the plant got over it. Stupid grow cab been keeping a steady 85... gotta get some new type of ventilation flow. Im thinking im restricting the airflow by not having enough intake.

Whats the best way to light-proof a large area? For example: Instead of putting a bunch of 4-6 inch pvc piping for intake (with the S shape so no light comes thru), Id rather be able to cut out a large portion of the wall and replace it with something. If that makes any sense. :-/

Any suggestions?

May i suggest Midget Louvers? They are a cross between regular louvers and the light proof box design with baffles. Looks pretty interesting. it doesnt look as if it would block airflow as much as a darkroom louver would. Never tried myself - but maybe it will work, and you can get a bit of grow space inside the grow cab.

Hey thanks Nickel! Welcome to my grow. Ill check out those louvers, they look great but it seems no one has much information about them unfortunately. Guess its one of those things you gotta just do yourself!


Temps still in the mid 80's tho...not sure how to get it down. I cant spend anymore loot until payday - in 2 weeks so that sucks.

I swear! One of these days ill put up all the pictures ive been saying ill put up... damn this procrastination. Well its been about a week into flower, and they are going pretty well. Trimmed the hell out of em and LST a bit...not sure if thats a no no - but i bet someone will chime in when i do something wrong

Pictures Pictures Pictures, people need to see whats happening. Girls look good atm. Why grow inside in Hawaii ? Its medically legal and one of the best places to grow outdoors.

And here is my cab! Im pretty damn proud of this thing even tho it takes up like 1/4 of my whole bedroom. All wood, hand cut everything except the plywood. Literally have some blood and sweat in this box.

Oh and to answer your question...

Hawaii is GREAT for growing...unless your in the city. Its pretty populated in Honolulu, so growing outside in a city sucks and guaranteed to be stolen real fast. Plus im a control freak sometimes and i like the idea of being able to control the weather so to speak for my plants. I enjoy taking care of them in an intimate fashion i guess you could say lol

and just what she looks like...im so happy they are healthy. . Its amazing to watch these things grow and how mother nature will always (usually) overcome. you tie them down? They bounce up. You cut them? They come back twice fold.

Ahhh yes. Here they are.

Right at the end of the 2nd week of flower. I ended up just diverting a part of the A/C vent into the box directly which helps immensely.

I always love the 'upskirt' photo's - women or plants

And both just chillin...loving life.

Back with and update. These babies are taking off! Its day 23 of flower now, and i would assume its done stretching - but a couple buds were getting a bit to close to the bulb for my comfort, and a bit to close to the fan so i did a a bit of tie downs.

So here it is before tying down...

The height is a bit close to me... its a 600w HPS

And a look after the tie down - now most bud sites are even across the board.

Today i also did a water change with nutes and whatnot. Just keeping my 1/3 strength rule it seems to be working well so far! Any ideas or suggestions on my grow?

Holy shit i forgot to update! Well anyways....here are the collective pictures of the grow. I got a little under 16oz. The tangerine dream was about 7 ounces by herself, and the Unknown rocked the it with a little over 8. This new grow is a scrog, and maybe ill start a journal for that too. But here are the photos. The buds so big they falling over...

And this....this was harvest day.
