Grow big or go home

Hello buds and budettes! New grower here, from the south. I am very excited to be on this new venture. I have been farming/ranching most of my life, and I have never been more excited about a new venture than I am right now. I live in Texas, and the market here is huge. What spurred my new venture is actually excitement from a new politician for Governor here in the Great State of Texas, who I really hope makes it into office. At minimum, his run for office is creating buzz to decriminalize cannibus. I am one month into my grow, and I guess I need to start a journal to keep track. I'm not doing quite as good as expected, but I have already ordered more seeds. I started with a strain that is not for beginners, and after learning that, I'm just looking to keep them alive at this point. I'll be reading through forums today, and likely post a few pics of my grow so far either today or tomorrow. I've got some yellowish-white leaves now on the bottom of some of the plants. I finally broke down 2 weeks ago and bought a good size tent, and have stocked up on plenty of nutes and supplies. I'm doing primarily coco, but will probably do my autos that arrive in the next few days in soil, just for ease. I'm looking to be a sponge and soak up information.

On a side not, I also have some land in Oklahoma, which just legalized hemp for research purposes, that I'm trying to get contracts for to grow. I'm looking at this to be the main staple of my income in the future, and want to make this as professional as possible. Would love any input that any of you great folks may have.

:welcome:

I grow in soil and I find there is less hassle, but you will get 100 opinions on the matter...grow what works for you.

Yes sir, and I'm experimenting. I just now got my nirvana seeds from GYO, and got 20 White Widow going, as well as 10 Northern Lights. Ill mix it up and see what I like the most. The coco I'm doing now doesn't seem difficult at all, but, time will tell. I do understand soil is less hassle for most, so I'll be doing some in soil. Hoping at least 20/30 pop, and Ill do half and half in soil or coco. Next month Ill start some more in hydro, see how those go, as well as put clones in hydro. I tested some tomato plant clones in rockwhool for a coco transplant, and theyre doing great.

Welcome to the site. I have some white widow finishing up right now. You can click on my grow, in my sig, and see them progress. They were pretty easy to grow and I have been pulling 3-4 Oz per plant.
Feel free to ask any of us questions because we have all had a sick plant, pests, overwatering ect and lean on each other for help. These guys have helped me a ton.
Also, keep a good carbon filter going at all times and remember the rule... no smell and no tell.

Thanks a ton diggler. I read your journal, and I like what I see. Loving the LED set up, as that is what I chose. How was the power consumption with all those lights? I wish I would have found this site a month ago, I would be miles ahead, but I anticipated mistakes, just not so many with all the research I did.

Thanks for the props!
They do use less power and put off less heat.
