GrizzWalds - Aussie Indoor/Outdoor - Choose Your Own Adventure

Re: Grizzwalds - One Plant At A Time - Starting With Spiritual Punk - Coco/Perlite -

Happy new year 420.. I got to a couple of your threads for seasons greetings, but been busy, limited reception, dead batteries.....I went away for New Years, friends property. Around 18 of us, swimming, drinking & fishing.. Took daughter camping for her first time. She was so excited about sleeping in a tent; good to know :)..... I shot glassed 3 critical amnesia and tissue papered them day before I left. Stayed couple days later, tissue paper was hard dry, crispy. I watered as soon as I saw them and put back into draw, not even looking at them at all.. Next afternoon I open the cupboard to three standing seedlings. Two with yellow/green cotyledons, other with her stackhat (helmet, seed pod, lol) still on. We'll see what happens.. I haven't cracked the critical auto or the eve freebie.. I had a black dream I cracked around three weeks ago.. Well she's had it hard. Kicked out of her pot three times, given no nutes, ph corrected water or light. She has been sitting under window sill in kitchen, given cold but boiled water from kettle and not to often. She hasn't grown anything at all. No roots or height or leaves of any note, lol... Her cotyledons fell off and her one bladed leaves were as good as dead. So now she's given me interest.. I repotted her, cut off her dead single bladed leaves and gave her some nutes. I haven't taken photos, again was going to throw her out before just now doing the repotting, but once I wake I'll get some shots of her, and introduce, lol... Here's some photos of the critical amnesia seedlings, can't see much, but it's something of an update, lol.. First one, around 7" long (orange tray).. Second is with her hat still on (small pot)...third I didn't take photo, but I may have broken bottom of root, not sure, but it was around 5" long (grey tray)...

Where's the pic? I'm a vegetarian. Cows eat grass, I eat cows. That makes me a vegetarian by extension. (As I see it.)

Re: Grizzwalds - One Plant At A Time - Starting With Spiritual Punk - Coco/Perlite -

How I prep to get my grow going....
I use canna bagged coco coir.. I get a tub and fill with the required amount of coir. I fill the tub with water out of the tap. I'll then semi rub coir, and grab handfuls off the top and give it a good squeeze. This goes into another tub to be mixed with the required amount of perlite.. Once washed and mixed with perlite, I fill my pots.. I have a 3/4 nutrient solution, which is 3ml litre (2.5 teaspoons/gal) of a&b coco, 1ml litre rhizotonic (beneficial bacteria) 1ml litre silica 1ml litre b52.... I run this mix through the pots, with around 20-30% runoff (medium is already wet, I like to make sure the nutrient solution is replacing the water in the medium).... From here I stick a pen (usually my finger) a little deeper than the seedling. I always have germinated seeds with tap and cotyledons when planting. I'll plant so the cotyledons are just surfacing.. Then under the lights and not looked at for a week, well at least touched.. The same nutrient mix is used after first week, except a&b is dropped to 1ml litre until three sets of leaves...seedlings go under a 90w led panel set at around 40" above, for around a week or two.. More lights are added and dropped to around 18" to veg....

The height on the LEDs should read 36", I thought I better check and state the correct info, I got some photos whilst there.. two days later, I'm doing updates, lol.... I think I might need to get back to work or go away on a holiday.....

orange tray.. She's a little stretchy, room to fill pot more if required...
image35748.jpg
little pot, stumpy gal. No signs of me having to remove her helmet...early contender for my favortism, lol...
image35749.jpg
Aileen, been in some scraps this gal... Never wanted to leave home, tried everything.. I never noticed the part of her seed that her cotyledons had grown into..
image35750.jpg
the neglected girl that needs some love.. I repotted her up to her dead cotyledons, she's improved a lot in two-three days...

Re: Grizzwalds - One Plant At A Time - Starting With Spiritual Punk - Coco/Perlite -

Looking good brother. Are you going to use this journal for multiple plants indefinitely?

Re: Grizzwalds - One Plant At A Time - Starting With Spiritual Punk - Coco/Perlite -

Yeah blaze.... Took me three years to start one, I'll just keep this continuing indefinitely... I'm not really organised enough to have a proper dedicated journal. Might as well just have a place to show stuff and speak dribble when it comes to me, lol.. Save other peeps journals from my board stoned ramblings, lol..

Camo, you'll be curing as I'm flipping, lol... I've got visitors coming Easter, kinda why I didn't put a auto on yet.. I've just built a little cupboard for my bedroom, to put them into for a week, whilst I clean up and use the grow room for its intended use, bedroom, lol.... I'm thinking I could get the 62 day auto going now, and if it's a couple weeks over I'll have room to put it in. I can't get an extractor with filter in there though..more planning needed...
Thanks jaga... I'm loving the little flower bed.. I don't know much about flowers, only ever grown eatables and smokable, lol..I don't know if these plants die over winter and need to be brought again next season. They were only cheapies I let my daughter pick.. But I like the colour and will be buying a lot more next year to plant around the house.. They look after themselves and with some thought into planting, you could do some trippy/interesting stuff with those colours. I think they are mainly used as boarders, but you could actually do paintings with them, in a planting sense, if that makes sense, lol....

Bapple..... Pick a boo, I can see you, lol... Hi :passitleft:.... Could you sub up please, so I can get a link to your yard.. How'd it end up? I lost it just as you were getting to harvest... How you been?
I've got a party on tonight, seafood and white wine. We all have to dress in white. When did this sorta thing start? Where do you find white dress pants and shoes in 8 hours? Well I'm off shopping.... Hope all are well...

Stage, yeah I see you too, lol.... Did you see the flowers? See the resemblance? lol.... Man, you talked the mrs into full time yet? All those lights /nutrients/pest controllers etc, that's to much stuff for 3 plants a year, lol... Oh hang on, I'm talking to you stage, those 3 are 12 in any body else's grow rooms, lol... You think it's worth going 4-5 gal for big ones with coco or stick to the 2-3 gals for 5-6 ouncers...
