Not sure I see your point. Fighting has been done for gain, be it money or goods, since...well...forever. The color of the coin may have changed, but its still the same. Sure, I am not naive enough to believe that there isnt fixing going on in the 'pro' fight circuit, but everyone who gets into a ring anywhere is hoping to gain something.

I reckon photos means that it's the fat non-fighters running the show making all the calls for their own immediate gain, as opposed to the fighters/sports long term development... Boxing has been like that for decades... UFC no different.
Like every other industry in the world...

Was busy last night and didn't see the news till now. Seriously? Replace a guy who was popped for roids with another guy who was popped for roids 2 fights ago. Add in 4 fight loosing streak. It's all about name recognition and the PPV draw I guess, hence why Lesnar is on the card. I watched every show since UFC 1, all the Fox Sports cards, Ultimate Fighter TV shows, even the ones for different countries, WEC, Pride Fighting, etc. up until about a year ago. I was a real MMA junky. Then suddenly I quit. I'll look at the results online, and if a particular matchup interests me, I'll download it and watch just that fight. Planning on having over a couple of my old buddies that used to watch them with me on Saturday. A little UFC and a bud buffet/sampling party.

I'm the same. I think I stopped couple years ago.. Overeem being knocked out by Bigfoot was around the end for me.. I still look in every now and then at results or watch the fights I want to see....
 
Hey 777.... Filling the woodshed. Daughters helping me, which is a big bonus. Nothing like a 4 year old helping out. Every piece she wants to pick up, I have to first inspect for splinters, lol... We on Apple break at the moment... Awesome day down here, sun out and blue sky. Might get a top of 16, it feels hot, lol, still beanie and hoody on though... How's things up your way? Beans?
