GrizzWalds - Aussie Indoor/Outdoor - Choose Your Own Adventure

Yeah no matter photos or autos strains will time differently... Breeders have it sussed just plan on extra week or two, just in case...

Stage, yeah I see you too, lol.... Did you see the flowers? See the resemblance? lol.... Man, you talked the mrs into full time yet? All those lights /nutrients/pest controllers etc, that's to much stuff for 3 plants a year, lol... Oh hang on, I'm talking to you stage, those 3 are 12 in any body else's grow rooms, lol... You think it's worth going 4-5 gal for big ones with coco or stick to the 2-3 gals for 5-6 ouncers...

Grizzy,
Way too soon for me to even broach the subject of going perpetual.
If things change in my state in terms of decriminalizing cannabis I would have an ongoing grow.
But until then, I'm off and on. With the new toys from the contest, I would likely run multiple tents.
In coco you don't need a big pot to get big plants. Ms bubblegum was a 5 gal pot and I only transplanted her once.

EDIT: If you want big plants in coco ya gotta feed often. I was feeding 12 hrs str8 during lights on.

Bapple..... Pick a boo, I can see you, lol... Hi :passitleft:.... Could you sub up please, so I can get a link to your yard.. How'd it end up? I lost it just as you were getting to harvest... How you been?
I've got a party on tonight, seafood and white wine. We all have to dress in white. When did this sorta thing start? Where do you find white dress pants and shoes in 8 hours? Well I'm off shopping.... Hope all are well...

and you made fun of my outfit... just saying' Happy New Year Pard, wishing you and yours a healthy 2016 :passitleft:

Straight back at ya captain.. no doubt there was a headache involved, lol... Yards looking awesome man....
Just out in the garden picking some strawberries with the princess, maybe the best strawberries I've ever eaten since the last time I ate fresh strawberries, lol. I had a look at the outside gal.. Must be a lot of food on offer around here.. My strawberry patch was full of them.. First outside update for the year... Ain't this a great sight..unless one gets eaten in a literal sense afterwards, lol, (spiders of some discription, black widows, makes sense, lol)

she loves a plain tap water diet with some nibblies in the soil... Getting time to add some stuff, rocks etc....

broken branch, almost snapped off. I can't imagine it being alive for too much longer, but I held the break together and packed around it. I was meant to keep moist, but hey, lol. Not a bad one to lose, allow me room to train the top in that direction, if needed..

Thanks jaga... I'm loving the little flower bed.. I don't know much about flowers, only ever grown eatables and smokable, lol..I don't know if these plants die over winter and need to be brought again next season. They were only cheapies I let my daughter pick.. But I like the colour and will be buying a lot more next year to plant around the house.. They look after themselves and with some thought into planting, you could do some trippy/interesting stuff with those colours. I think they are mainly used as boarders, but you could actually do paintings with them, in a planting sense, if that makes sense, lol....[/QUOTE]
You have some Marigolds and I was just reading in :scratchinghead:I think 420brothers journal that growing marigolds keeps the pest away from his ladies,, I love watching flowers folk growing outdoors its my fav place :ganjamon:a plant grown outdoors IMHO beats all when grown well :Namaste:

Marigolds are the only ones I know the name of...I told the lady (who sold them) they'd be going into a veg patch, she said they were good for keeping bugs away.... It's good to find out I recieved the correct information :thanks: I like growing outdoors. I think we might be lucky in Australia. Although I'm as south as Australia gets, we seem to have a good climate for outdoors. Here can be a struggle to get a good finish, but anywhere else, hour north and it's perfect, along east coast..

Did you set up a drip system? To waste? I hand feed, twice a day when possible, but can't always, reason I grow in coir, can get away with days not feeding without issue (health, maybe yields affected) when needed..I wouldn't be keen on recirculating through coco, but nothing with me is set in stone when there's proof showing otherwise... Thought to set up a drip feed to waste, but im in a bedroom, no drains. Thought about a lower res for waste, as long as I could get a stable res for 3-4 days, so not over a sink every day and can go away still..ideas? What do you do?

Whassup fellas?
I hand fed for most of veg, but I did a recirc drip using a 25 gal res for flower. My waterpump was a 364 gph unit I took from my cloner.
I used the cheap drip stakes spent less than $20 for the tubes and emitter lines.
I used 1 large air stone with variable speed air pump. Coco is a great buffer once you get your ph dialed in.
Wanna hear something funny? I never changed the res the entire 9 weeks of flower!
I know....nasty right? But it proved to me that I was wasting a lot of nutes.
I had two filters to catch gunk and goo, and I used an additive (DM zone) to keep the nasties at bay. Hope this helps.:Namaste:

A friggan lot..Man those filters would need a change... I'm loving the idea.. I've got a bubble bucket I was going to use over winter. I know a dude, same thing, no res change just tops up with water or nutrients.. I know how much we waste.. Being a lazy grower, I'm always looking for ways of spending less time working on them and more time admiring, lol.... I think my nutrients could all recirculate, have to check rhizo... Thanks stage...

sorry stage, couple more, lol.... Ppm... Stable?... You have bottom layer of perlite to help stop coir running through waste?... Most importantly, bud taste? Not affected? ..... Thanks man.....

Hola Grizzy,
:high-five:
To answer your 1st question, I needed to see if all the res changes were really necessary?
During my 1st run I was changing the res weekly, sometimes 2x a week! :laughtwo:
All paranoid that my plants would suffer if i didn't. :thedoubletake:
The cost of the nutes I bought were pricey as I bought the entire suite.
I was thinking I should have enough to last for 4 cycles but they only lasted for 2.
When I hand watered, I water/feed to 20%+ runoff and i hated waiting for the water to drain out.:loopy:
With a res, you just top off, or...you can pour the fresh nutes directly into the pots and walk away.
Much better suited to my lazy man approach. I usually run high ppm starting from 200 up to about 1100.
After the plant has good roots I feed with every watering.
If you automate the watering you will be surprised how much time this gives you back.
I use this time to quietly sit and observe the plant and listen for her to tell me what she needs.:dreamy:

Oh Grizzy... I wanted to add I have only grown in coco and in dwc and I love the taste of the bud I grow. But I cant compare it to a LOS or DBHBB grow as far as taste. As far as ph I let it float. I put it in low...5.5 then let it drift up to 6.7. the larger your res the longer it takes to drift in my experience.
I mix my coco and perlite and put them in fabric smart pots.
The pots keep the coco and perlite out of the res.:Namaste:

Yeah same with recirculating and coco, but I'm not going to argue with stage after what he did, I'll follow if anything, lol

Nothing tastes like my outdoor gals but the couch lock I can get from indoors I can't from outside.... my outside girls give me my daytime smoke and indoors night...
