UK - Police had little difficulty pinpointing a man accused of selling drugs in a city centre pub, a court heard.
When officers attended the Angel, in Crossgate, Durham, on June 21 last year, they soon spotted Daniel Eric Robert Wright, as he was sporting a green beard, in keeping with reports made to police.
Durham Crown Court heard that Wright was found to be in possession of 29.7g of skunk cannabis in 13 bags and £935.32 in cash.
Stephanie Donington, prosecuting, said a further 56.88g of skunk cannabis was found at his home.
Wright, 22, of Bamburgh Road, Newton Hall, admitted possessing a class B drug with intent to supply.
Having read pre-sentence reports on Wright, Judge Christopher Prince told his barrister, Stephen Duffield, he would not impose an immediate prison sentence.
The judge told Wright: “I think the court can be confident you won’t be going to offend again. If I thought you would, you wouldn’t be getting a second chance.”
He passed a nine-month prison sentence, suspended for two years, with 18 months’ probation supervision.
