Thanks for checking out my second journal! :Namaste:

For those of you who I haven't had the pleasure of meeting yet, I have been growing for around 10months (at the date of this post), 10 months ago, I started with this:

IMG_38382.JPG

IMG_38012.JPG

Three seeds, some bits and pieces, and Google, hence my name! And i have managed to put myself together a pretty good setup.

I have learnt a lot along the way, and for that I have to thank the 420 community as a whole, a very welcoming and knowledge friendly place. But i would like to single out a few select growers who have helped me along the way

Cultivator, Jimmy2k and last but certainly not least, KingJohnC! For the tips, the encouragement, the knowledge and most importantly your time, for this and more, I thank you!

Right, tissues away, oscar for best speech goes to me, lets grow some weed!

In accordance with 420 Guidelines, here is the information about my current setup and grow:

What strain is it?
Fruity Chronic Juice and Dinafem Cheese

Is it Indica, Sativa or Hybrid? What percentages?
FCJ is 90% Indica, 10% Sativa
Cheese is 60% Indica, 40% Sativa

Cannazyme
Buddhas Tree Advanced Meta Boost
Buddhas Tree Solar Green Power (Silica)
Great white shark
House and Garden Drip Clean

Nutrient strength?
EC between 1.6 and 1.8

And here are a few pictures of my setup today, at the end of their first day of flowering. However, I will not be counting today as Day 1. I will count Day 1 as the day that I see pistils appear, so in the next 4 days i expect.

This is flowering tent #1 referred to from now on as F#1 with my Mars II 1200w

re: GoogleGenie's Fruity Chronic & Cheese Grow - Hydro - 2300W LED

Thanks for the invite. Im new too, (to led's and hydro) and am having excellent results, although I was already into bloom stage when I stuck them under the led's ....So I appreciate the chance to learn from you...real quick

What does EC mean in nute strength?...IE 1/4strength 1/2 strength etc..
Am I correct in that your Base is for veg and Boost is for bloom and Additives are for micro nutrients?....If so I am with you so far...but under boost you list 3 separate nutes...do you mix all those together or switch off and on between the 3?
If you feel this is not the thread to ask these things I apologize....I didnt mean to hijack your thread

Hello GG, I am in, I am excited to follow your topic, your plants is truly great, looks very healthy. can not wait to see the harvest, haha:)

re: GoogleGenie's Fruity Chronic & Cheese Grow - Hydro - 2300W LED

So in!!! I have a 144x3 reflector from them now, and im waiting for my 2x 700''s to get here and get started! oh man that sea looks soooo good already, you have no idea how big you just made me smile lol... Awesome! I was going to use the 144x3 for Veg and Flower backup and use the 700's for my flower tent, but then I got the crazy idea of maybe doing a 4x8 or a 3x9 space for flower and throw my 144x3 reflector in with the 2 700's.. But will most likely just use the 144x3 for veg in a 2x4 and then flower in I was thinking and yet to purchase 3x5ft that would work great too!... I cant wait for more updates on yours.. awesome!!!!! :)

Hey blackstang and welcome.

EC stands for Electrical conductivity. The more nutrients (dissolved salts) in your nutrient solution, the higher your EC. For example, where i am from, the EC of tap water is 0.5 because I have hard water, after i add my base and call mag, it's up to 1.4, and then i add my booster which will bring it up to 1.8. This is the guide i follow:

Seedling:
PH'd Water, Greatwhite Shark and Cannazyme ONLY

Developeed Seedling/Rooted clone:
Nutrient at an EC of 1.0

Vegetative phase:
Range from 1.0 up to 1.8

Bloom phase:
Start at 1.8 and work down to plain water, I will be beginning my decline in EC during the ripening phase (last 2 weeks) of flowering.

You definitely want to invest in an EC (or TDS) meter. You can get a cheap one, it will give you the same reading but will just take a little longer to give a stable reading, I have a bluelab truncheon and love it.

My base will be one of 2 different types, either: Canna Aqua Vega, which is a hydroponic nutrient especially designed for recirculating systems for vegetative growth (18/6 lighting), or Canna Aqua Flores, which is the same except this is for the bloom/flowering phase (12/12 lighting).

Side note : However, before this i was using General Hydroponics Flora series which was also very good. I still have some of this around because you can use it in all mediums, the reason i use Canna now is because it maintains(buffers) the PH in the systems saving me a lot of work.

I always add my base nutrient first, then my booster and additives afterwards. I consider CalMag part of my base. If you mix a nutrient solution and find that the EC is too high, just dilute it down with water. It's the ratio's of nutrient to water that is important, you can change the quantity to suit the EC you want to achieve, as long as the ratios are maintained.

My booster also depends on the phase of growth, for the first 2 weeks of flowering i use Advanced Nutrient Bud Ignitor, then I use Buddhas Tree PK918 until 2 weeks from the end, by which time i switch to Atami Bloombastic for the last 2 weeks, then I flush with cannazyme and water. I'll post my full feeding schedule in a later post, but this is the lowe down for the rest of it:

I use Great white shark throughout the whole of the veg period, i do not use it in flowering.

I use Cannazyme, CalMag and Silica for every feed, from seedling/clone to harvest, whether it be water or nutrient.

I use Advanced Meta Boost for the last 2 weeks of veg, first week of flowering, and then from week 4 to flush.

But thats just me, all you really need is a base nutrient.

I hope this helps, Get googling mate ;)

Hey k0ncept, glad your along for the ride. And wow, sounds like you have plenty of options and loads of space to play with, looking forward to seeing what comes out of your space. The 3x9 idea sounds pretty good, you could saturate a 3x8 space using just the 2 700's, and you would have space to eventually get another light in there too if you needed it.

Glad you like the ladies :) they are loving life at the moment, I can wait to see them flower!

You're welcome, anytime blackstang. Again, this is just the way i do it, as you have probably seen there are many different ways of doing it

re: GoogleGenie's Fruity Chronic & Cheese Grow - Hydro - 2300W LED

Morning guys

So, now that i figured out why my photos kept uploading with the wrong orientation, I am ready to post an update. I've been in Germany for the last 4 days, but before i left i took these pictures of my ladies at Day 3 transition (3 days since flipping to 12/12)

I used elastic bands and pipe cleaners to LST the plant during VEG. I am still training them but less so due to the space limitaitons now that they are stretching

Check the trunk out on this one

re: GoogleGenie's Fruity Chronic & Cheese Grow - Hydro - 2300W LED

KJC i had a question for you if you don't mind.

Stupidly i left the lights on all night in F#1, so they have essentially missed a night, And i know that this period (the transition) is particularly sensitive to disturbances in the photoperiod.

Is my best bet to just carry on as i would as if it hadn't happened, or should i put them in the dark immediately? Otherwise they will have to wait another 12 hours before the lights were due to turn off.

Thanks for your help

re: GoogleGenie's Fruity Chronic & Cheese Grow - Hydro - 2300W LED

I would place your plants into darkness now.

Thanks KJC, and should I keep to 12/12 or can I extend this dark period so the on/off is at the same time each day?
