So I currently run a 1000w hps in my 4 x 4. I'm moving in 6 months and want to upgrade my setup at the same time.
I've been looking at qbs and cobs and I'm liking the results people are getting with qbs.

So what's a good setup for my 4 x 4. Maybe the hlg 600w quantum board? I've been leaning towards it but wondering if it can do as good as my 1000w hps?

Maybe someone has experience with switching and can tell me dif the lost quality or weight.

Thanks

Love love love my QBs all I use now

I use a 288 system in my 2x4 tent for veg (288s are the bds in the 600 system)
They are fantastic.

I use some 132bds in my flower tent, it's a 4x4 also.
I do like them since I can put them closer to the tops durring Flowering, it's a diy build I did

The 600 would be great for a 4x4 as long as it's 6' or taller, but most are

Oh and I started with a 600w HPS in my 4x4, the QBs out performed it a lot

Light penetration is much better with the QB lights, a d heat is about 10f less which I needed living here on the surface of the sun....lol

Thanks for the feedback guys.

I have the height for the 288s so I might go with them.

Is there a specific reason you went with 132s in your flower tent other then getting them closer to the buds. Just want to make sure I'm not missing something. I wouldn't want to fork out the loot for the 288s if the 132z are better for flowering.

I was also thinking I might go with 2 300w qb kits. If 2 plants get taller then the other 2 I could adjust 1 side. Idk just thoughts. Might not be worth it

You will love what the quantum boards do. I built my own board. Very easy to do and I had never done it. Didn't even know what a driver was till I educated myself. Read this Build my own quantum light cheap In my build I was pretty sure I could do it but nervous I was dumping money down the toilet. As it turns out IT WORKED. I have these under my tent and they are about 20 days old at this moment. You won't be disappointed if you build it. If you need help Just ask. First Grow, First Journal & Hoping For First Harvest

I liked the idea of more space durring flower
I grow a lot of Sativas so it sounded good.
It was a diy build and the 132s and 120s don't need heat sinks so is a cheaper build also

I have 132s in 2700k
One light of 120s in 3000k and one in 3500k
And a 4000k 288 two bd light

The two 300 may work better than the single 600, for coverage

I would go with two lights over one as well. If you decide to go with the 288s, they make 3ft heatsinks. 2 would fit your tent perfectly.

Thanks I th8nk I'll go with 2 300s so I can spread the light out better.

I'll have to browse around and see so flowering pics under led. Looking to buy new lights the 1st of next month and see how the do on the last 4 weeks of my current run
