I have 5 outdoor plants here in Colorado. Going by the pistils are they ready for harvest?

Jokerola, whats up?
nice work..frosty!! No not yet imho
Two and three are kinda getting close another week or two perhaps
#5 is the most mature of all but I’m blind without trichs to see
#1 and #4 need to keep growing

Do you have a jewelers loupe or mini microscope to view trichs? $15 US in grow shop or online. Pistils can be an indicator but the battle is won or lost by the trichs. If you can’t see them - how can we?

see what others say

I have a loop and I have microscope something like you show here. The loop doesn't show close enough and the microscope shows too close and its hard for me to focus and see the trichs so I wanted to just see where people thought they were by the pistils. I also have a scope that plugs into a laptop that I can't get to work right now. Once I get it to work, I will try to take pictures and post them in a separate thread. I had it working a few days ago. I could see a lot of amber on some sugar leaves on a couple of plants but they also looked like there was still a lot of clear in the buds.

Trichomes on the flowers are the ones that count. If harvesting when they're mature / at peak potency means significant ambers on the leaves (and it usually does), make sleepy-time hash / etc. out of the leaves, lol.

Hold the loop farther from your eye. The image will flip and you can see smaller details. The pistols, have a base that starts small and expand/grow out towards the end of the pistol' as the plant matures. The newer pistols higher up will usually keep growing while lower ones will have started to change to red and amber swelling up with trics and resin. Nice work.
