Gathering Materials

So, im piecing together some materials for my first grow, and i picked up some CFLS's yesterday.

My question is, the lights themselves don't have a light spectrum rating on the package, so I'm wondering if you guys can shed a little light on what these things will be primarily suited for.

I got 2 42W CFL's rated at 2600 lumens each. The only info regarding the spectrum is where its called "soft white CFL"

Thanks in advance :smokin:

Soft white (red light spectrums) for Flowering.

Cool white or daylight (blue light spectrums) for Vegging.

Mixing spectrums is a good idea so long as the correct spectrum is dominent.

10,000 lumens is the goal for adult plants

so you're saying the goal is 10k lumens for each plant? i have a few grow books and they say the plant usually needs around 2700 per plant. I only plan on growing a couple of plants at a time.

Ill pick up a few more lights for vegging but i was hoping to flower with 3-4 of the 42W which would output around 7800-10400 lumens.

Worst case and i have 7800 lumens total, do you think this would be adequate to flower 2 plants? I'm not looking to get the absolute most out of the plants for now. It's my first grow and i know I'm going to make mistakes so it's less discouraging to ruin a mediocre yield than a huge yield.
