The House Judiciary Non-Civil Committee eliminated a provision to the medical marijuana bill that would allow for the cultivation and production of cannabis oil.

The original bill would have licensed up to six companies to grow cannabis and sell liquid products to people on the Georgia's medical cannabis registry.

Rep. Rich Golick, chairman of the committee, has been working on a new draft with includes six additional conditions. Under the shortened bill, people with autism, HIV, AIDS, Tourette's, peripheral neuropathy, terminal illness, and EB would able to sign up for the state's medical cannabis registry with a doctor's recommendation.

The medical marijuana bill will go before the committee again on Wednesday.
