First time grower and just wondering how to stunt the growth. I know u don't here it often but didn't really think my spot out and they are getting enormous. Never furtilized once except for what is in your standard house plant soil. Put them in way late, but still no budding but they are healthy as crap not a yellow or dicoloured leaf. Is it bad to cover my area in a tarp or something to block out the sun or is that just ruining all my work and care. I'm kind of worried they might get spotted. All the other clones if seen that come from same place all stayed small and these ones are just amazing so didn't plan for this. Again I know stupid situation but I need a little help.

I think your term "stunt" is a bit of a misnomer.

There are many ways to control both lateral and horizontal growth.

Topping/pinching, Low stress training, Super Cropping, SCROG, SOG, using air-pruning pots, etc.

Having enough lumens/sq ft is essential. Too warm of growing conditions, at least in my experience, leads to long internode growth. And keep your lights down as close as possible without causing leaf burn or bleaching.

The big ones are probably have better sun and are in a good place for water in the ground.I assume you are outside.I would lst like josh said.Get some tent stakes and some string with rubber or something to not cut into the plant and tie it down a little more each time you go out to them. That should take care of the problem.Even though they are growing huge make sure you give them the correct nutrients for flowering to achieve a yield worth having.High phosphorus fertilizer of any brand will work...
