Foliar feeding

Any one have a good mix to use? Can I just use regular nutes diluted to 20% or so? Do the leaves absorb nutes at the same ph as the roots?

I believe foliars are usually lower in PH. The acidity helps the plant absorb it. Give in early morning when cool while the stomata are open. Spray the bottom of the leaves. That's where the action is.

I have been doing a lot of reading lately about foliar spraying. The PH they recomend was 6.0 and said that the leaves will uptake 8 times better than the roots if my memory is correct ..

Like just about everything else, PH is a compromise. More acid helps the plant absorb better, but it also has an effect on the nutrients and how available they are, can create or increase phototoxicity, and breaks down the cuticle (protective waxy layer) of the leaves. Some nutrients work better than others as a foliar. It should always be used as a light supplement and can't replace proper fertilizing of the soil.

Something else that helps is a surfactant (wetting agent). When mixed with the spray, it will flow on the leaves better. Yucca extract is organic and does this.

I forgot to mention I am doing dwc. I been have issues with magnesium (Mg) and manganese (Mn) deficiencys. At first I couldn't figure out why it was happening. I now know to fix this and keep it from happening again. I need more of a swing in my ph. I just gotta figure out a system that best works for me. I just wanted to use foliar feed to help out with some of the deficiency till I get this dialed in.
