Good morning community

I'm a 40 yr old woman, married and we are trying our hand at growing without much success.. I am looking forward to picking someone's brain for ideas and help lol... SOS! We were givin a mother plant and she is suffering we want to build a box/closet in our basement. If anyone wants to help we would love to hear your ideas - we have so many questions - been surfing the web reading everything but I'm getting more confused - there are so many ways to do things but were on a budget so....
