Sarasota, Fla. - Sarasota-based company AltMed is expanding its medical cannabis operation to Arizona.
AltMed CEO Michael Smullen says the 31-thousand square foot facility is up and running in anticipation of receiving a license to grow and dispense medical marijuana.
"We developed our own trans-dermal patch, where we can get consistent product delivered to a patient over a period of time," Smullen explained.
We also have a meter dose inhaler which offers very precise dosing."
Smullen added that if the amendment to legalize cannabis for a broader range of medical conditions passes in November, AltMed hopes to get a license in Florida.
"It then takes about nine months to bring the products to market," he said.
