Opening a medical marijuana dispensary in Hillsborough County could soon become more difficult.
County commissioners heard from a handful of residents on Wednesday demanding commissioners ban new dispensaries from opening.
County leaders are considering a new rule that would put a hold on marijuana dispensaries from opening for 180 days, giving them time to look at the impacts of the new businesses.
Two medical marijuana dispensaries are open now in our area: One in Tampa and one in Clearwater.
Commissioners will take the issue back on Oct. 5.
And you'll get to decide if medical marijuana should be legalized on your November ballot.
