First timer here wondering on training a plant that has odd branching

Good morning,

I have a question on a plant that has some odd branching and I'm afraid areas of the plant aren't receiving correct amounts of lighting. They are young so I'm just trying to plan ahead this was one of the plants that started out with 3 little serrated leaflets. I'll post pictures of the plant below. I know someone on here can shed some light on what to do. Thanks in advance

Use something like 2 pipe cleaners. Wrap 1 around the base of the stem just a little above the soil.
Then tie it to the side of the pot so it supports the stem.
Then take the other pipe cleaner & tie it far enough up the stem so you can pull it over & bend it in the opposite direction as the 1st pipe cleaner as far as you can without snapping it. Tie it down.
You'll get a bunch more branches coming out the sides by doing this. It's called LST. There are several other ways to do things also. But this is one of the easiest ways to increase plant size & yield.

Even the mutants put out some nice plants. Train all her limps out as mains and let her go vertical once they all reach the pots edge of their final pot. Exploit each limb as a main and see what she throws up.

Were these grown from seed? The bottom looks like it has the single bladed first true leaves, the. Goes right into alternating as cr8grow said.
Yes I planted from a seed it came out with 3 leaflets. First time grower I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a male or hermie. I guess its a waiting game now. I planted 6 total and I have 2 more that has the same shape leaves as that one. And i have 3 that has different type leaves but 1 of them looks odd out of them. So I really don't know what I have sex wise or anything. My buddy gave me 6 seeds from some mid so we will see.

Looks like a mutant. They won't need training. Likely they will be runts. You will need to work that genetic line to develope it into something worth growing is my experience.
First time grower just some mid seeds from a friend. I do have 3 auto jack herer feminized seeds I just planted. I have a old street light not sure of the wattage. Also I'm not 100% its even a HPS might be a LPS . All I know is that I can hear my electric meter sing and also the light. Its pretty loud takes a second to warm up. Any idea of the wattage or if I should even use it. Any help would be appreciated

First time I hear about someone growing with a street light :laughtwo: Try to tie your mutant plant, learn about LST (the pipe cleaner thing will do it) and don't be sorry to cut the sucker leaves if that improves your yields. You can read my lunar gardening journal if you want.

I have no idea what's used for street light, but if you can afford it, a cheap led or even a lot of CFL bulbs should work better and use less energy.

This is all of them the first picture is the one with the mutation. The last one is also different than the rest. I guess thats what you get with bagseed. Hopefully something decent will come out of them. Fingers crossed

I have CFLs 8 @ 100w ea. I have a 6 lamp T5HO should be here next week. I already have the bulbs 4 grow 4 bloom. I did a little research on the street light and it is hps 400w. B**** puts out some juice feels like the sun when you turn it on. I actually have 2 street lights both hps one is only 100 or 200w but it puts out pretty good. You could cook something with both of them together....electricity bill for sure:blunt:

Here are some of the mutants I am growing out this year.

The Twins (one which is auto topping itself) 1 seed, 2 plants

Two more that auto topped themselves giving me 2 main tops naturally

The one on the right started to grow it’s second set of true leaves but they never separated and left a “cup” which didn’t allow for a new shoot above.

And lastly, I have a bunch of these girls, they are all growing 3 limbs at each node.

The one on the left is normal with 2 limbs per node, the one on the right is growing 3.

What does being busy have to do with male/female? Males typically will be lanky compared to females, often topping them for height so their pollen travels father in the wind.
Not sure on that one as not heard that before. Sativa or indica , pheno , light distance , environmental factors, lst, all play a part.

When growing from seed I will start taking cuttings as soon as possible. Hopefully I will get one or more of them to start rooting. Then, one those clones will be put into the flowering cabinet to induce flowering. If it is male it gets tossed along with all the parent plant and every one of the other clones that came from it. If it is female I will leave it in the flowering cabinet to finish up. The parent plant and the other clones will be noted as female and life is good.

Naturally it means keeping some sort of strict guidelines on the notes for each parent plant and each cutting. I don't end up spending a lot of time training a male plant that should have been tossed weeks before along with the others.
