so i am finally deciding to grow. After a lot of thought into the proper soil and nutrients and good ventilation i'm stuck on lighting.. I'm looking to grow only a few plants around 5-6ish and trying to get them to a big size.
can any1 help me out? what bulbs? where i can get them?

Growing area size directly relates to bulb size for optimal or near optimal light coverage of the area...

Now 4 to 6 plants & growth habits depending on strain coupled with style of grow/training method may influence a thing or 2 !

Rule of thumb :thumb:

400w covers a 3' by 3' growing area.

600w covers a 4' by 4' growing area.

1000w covers a 5' by 5' growing area.

Thats with standard reflectors... & average hanging height depending on bulb size !

You can use larger wattage bulbs in smaller areas with air cooled reflectors/hoods this reduces light foot print size due to lower hanging height but may increase yield slightly.

This depends
How big is your space

What kind of enviro is in the grow space and the surrounding "building"

Are you training the plants
Growing from seed or clone

If you are trying for 6 plants I would go for the 600w hps, I have no personal experience with leds but they are a great option
Don"t forget an oscilating fan , a 8" table fan, depending on what style of growing a res and air pumps are needed for most teas and such for organic and soil media grows and all hydro systems
ph and ppm meters
room thermometer minimum 1, 4 is perfect (preferably one that has hummidity)
air scrubber / exhaust fan
In the top right corner is a button to the sponsor list.
I get most of my stuff from access hydro
:peace:

ok so i figured my space area is 4by4 and the lighting system im going with is: 600w Digital Super HPS Grow Light System with Air Cooled Tube

let me know what you guys think.
