This will be my first time growing any sort of cannabis plant so I'm only starting out with one plant and maybe moving up to two or 3 at a later time. I have a question that I have been wondering about before I start to buy everything I need to start growing. If I buy a CFL light bulb that says it is 30w = 150w (30w equivalent to 150w), will these bulbs still be strong enough to grow the plant to it's full potential and provide a decent yield?
They will be fine, you can start a seedling with one or two 30 watt bulbs and buy more as the plant grows

Yes cfls most definitely can take a plant all the way. You want 100 actual watts then 50-100 for each additional plant. Search the journal section and check out some of the work the more experienced growers are doing with cfls, you won't be dissapaointed.
