First Stealth Grow Bag Seed

Ok so this is my first grow ever and I'm looking for any experience/input you can give me. I'm a noob at this so keep that in mind. Just thought I'd give it a try cause I had some seeds and I hate spending money when I can grow it myself. Anyway first things first I live alone in an apartment but there's only one in the building.(it's above a store) so I'm stealth growing because I'd rather not go to jail. Anyway my grow box is about 2 1/2 ft tall and 4ft wide 20 inches deep. I know it's small but it's a stealth grow and I had to make the Damn thing myself and I have no money XD. I'm using 2 42watt florescent bulbs right now because it's all I can afford at the moment however they put out 2730 lumens a piece for a total of 5460 lumens which isn't great but it's more than double the minimum so I guess it's better than nothing. My box has air running through it via a small fan I fitted into the side of it so outside air circulates inside and keeps the cfl's cool as well, and I lined the inside with Mylar I got from wall Mart.(survival blanket super cheap and awesome find) I have 10 plants right now which I know is to much but I wanted to account for males and I have no idea how some of them will do. They are from different bags. I wanted to order seeds but last time I spend 80 on these awesome fems and they never came so if you guys could tell me a good site and a good strain for my next go around with this setup that would be awesome. Also please share with me how you order seeds because I live in indiana and I don't want cops to Show up at my door. I tried to put up pics of what my box looks like but I'm on my phone and can't I try to post some later. Thanks for any tips and help you guys can give this first time grower.

Welcome! If you are serious you came to the right place.

So first off not many people have experience in that type of setup. So a lot of rules of thumbs go out a bit. In most peoples grows after the height needed for the pot and the hood at 2.5 feet the lamp would not be far enough away from the pot to allow for growth.

I personally wont be much help in that setup without pics. That brings me to the next point. In the FAQ. Just above where this thread is are a bunch of sticky posts. Read the ones on How to post pics and the one that says "Everything you need to know". The second one you just look through it is a list of links to every subject needed to grow.

As for seeds many good companies out there. I order from a place out of the states that is not a sponsor of this web site. But at the top is a link to the site sponsors where there are tons of sites that charge a lot more than you can find out there.

In the completed journals section it is recommended that people use the names of the strain they are growing in the journal title. You can search through and find grows and see what the plants are that people are growing now and have grown in the completed journals. Many of them have the seed bank in the title...may even say something like "Crop Kings WW DWC journal".

At the top of the page is a link called Grow Room....in there is grow journals. Then go to completed ones. The live ones could be anything from a blog to a conversation to an actual journal.

Can you flip your box on its side to get more head room? Unless you grow in a wide shallow container, you don't have any room for growth.

I would flip your box so it is higher...i have seen vertical flouro tube grows before..

I have made all my previous spaces, like you... I had no money to invest really...

Ya first grow is always the scariest....
