First Indoor & Outdoor Grow

I started this grow with 9 plants, 4 of them collapsed due to reasons I couldn’t figure. For the remaining plants one is a BCN Critical XXL auto fem, which is 40 days old. 2 are SS Super Skunk auto and one is Big Bud Auto which are all 16 days old. I am giving them 12 hours natural sunlight, and supplementing with 6 hours artificial LED light, 2700K + 3000K, 100 Watt. Temperatures reach a max of 27 degree Celsius in the daylight and a low of 16 degree Celsius at night. The problem is with the three plants whose leaves are turning purple and sort of curling and fading. In my set up I keep the lights 10-15 cm from the seedlings.
I am using a mix of Coco+vermiculite+organic manure as the base soil, and initially planting in 4 inch coco pots then will later transplant to 12 L fibre pots. Relative humidity is maintained at about 40-45% outdoors and indoors. Am I doing something wrong, please do help.

PS: I suffer from a complex cerebral disorder, Batten’s disease, and am thus trying to start growing my own supply, starting with trying to grow easier plants.

Hey Amigo ,I just left a message on your other thread.
Did you see what I said about coco?
I'll follow along and help where I can.
You are going to need nutrients, calmag.ph pen and ppm meter.
Stay safe.
BTW I was serious about the smoke detector.

Hi Bill,
First off, thanks for the prompt help, I have used coco as base, as I was told it would be easier to manage nutrition and ph levels, I am using a pH meter to maintain pH at 5.5, I am using only plain RO water with pH down solution to water the plants as yet, because I was told they don’t need to be fed until atleast 4-6 weeks, but clearly that was wrong. I have attached images of all of the nutritive fertilisers I have with me, they include:
1) 3 part hydroponic fertiliser, Grow, Micro and Bloom ( Haven’t started using as yet, have attached the recommendation chart along too)
2) Dolomite Lime Powder (Which I think is calcium + magnesium)
3) Vermicompost enhanced
4) pH up and pH down solution
5) VAM powder

As of yet I have only used the pH down solution to being down the RO water pH to 5.5, rest, my base soil consisted of Coco+ Vermiculite+ Neem powder + Organic compost. I do not have a smoke detector installed as yet, but I do not smoke in my grow room, but I will surely arrange to install one ASAP.
I do have a pH pen which I use to monitor the water pH, but I will get a ppm meter too.

Hi Bill,
I forgot to mention and have thus attached a larger image of the leaves that are turning purple. I tried to research but could not understand the reason.

Hello Amigo.
Those ladies need fed ASAP.
You must put calmag into your feed water, put it in first.
Then try to use your nutrients according to the schedule they have provided.
Coco drains your ladies so cal mag is a must, putting it in first helps with uptake of her nutrients.
And she needs nitrogen desperately my friend. :Namaste:
Also inorder to get the most from your nutrients you must set your ph to 5.8 exactly.
Not 5.5 it makes a difference to availability of nutrients.
C.M. plus nutrients at 5.8 she can recover.
I asked about the smoke detector because of this.
Not because you smoke in your room, better safe than sorry my friend.
Stay safe.
Bill

Hi...

Good luck saving what you have left!! Please scour the forums for growing and nutrient information. Have you ever seen Little Shop of Horrors? FEEEEEEEED MEEEEEE!!! Everything Bill already said...Hope you can get these girls healthy again, you're in the best place to do so. Keep asking questions and start a journal so we can follow you more easily and help you before it gets to this point

Highya new grower!

I would not use that vermicompost - it has
scary levels of heavy metals:

100 ppm LEAD, 50 ppm CHROMIUM, 50 ppm NICKEL!

And...enriched with Cow Urine pesticide! o_O

The Lead level alone is much higher than the recommended levels of Phosphorus and Magnesium - and they are important nutrients.

Good catch.
I never even noticed.

Product origin - Delhi, India

AVOID!
I don’t know where you live, but this product should be reported to the authorities and removed from distribution! Those levels of heavy metals are intolerable and irresponsible.

Thanks @FelipeBlu , even I just noticed the levels, will have it sent back and reported. Thanks all others for the support, this all really seems to be falling apart, because of my noobie knowledge of growing.
@Bill284 i added calmag to the Water last night, and today, I have started the three part nutrient according to the feeding chart as you had advised.
As of yet I can see no visible changes, but then it would be too soon to say anything, have attached pictures of all 4 plants.

also, Just to add, the base was composed of:

40% Coco + 30% Vermiculite + 20% organic compost + 10% Neem Powder

First, I am sorry to learn about your medical condition and wish you all the best (and a discovery that can help you).

Frankly, I would ditch the coco/compost mix that includes the hazardous heavy metals and start over. This time, make things a lot easier for yourself - coco or soil - not both combined. I would advise coco since you already have Bill here to help.

After seeing the unregulated heavy metals in that vermicompost (I still can’t believe that they are brazen enough to put that information on the label!), I have to tell you that I am a little concerned about hydroponic nutrients from a company named Radon Grow! Is this all that you have available - nothing like General Hydroponics where you are?

Hi @FelipeBlu
Heeding to your advice, I think I should restart with Coco, but what composition of vermiculite, perlite etc should I use?
Also, I am situated in India, so access to General Hydroponics or Fox Farm is actually restricted, Radon Grow is relatively trustable locally, but I am trying to source general hydroponics fertilisers, might take another week or so to arrive.
Also, should I start with larger pots this time? Or 4 inch coir pots are okay?

I am not familiar with that brand - can you provide the guaranteed analysis from the label?

Oh wait - I see that it’s Advanced Nutrients. That should be okay - maybe I can find images of the labels..
