First grow - Is this normal?

Also agree ^

Op asked a general question so I gave a general response. Maybe I should have been more specific.

Looks like a specific question with a specific and uninformed answer. .

See that's why we are here now, this argument, because of how the OP was answered

Bad thing is, these kind of banter scare new people off, and that's not what this forum is about

Stew? A little bit of misinformation from more that one member on this thread, I had to skim back. I'm not gonna say who's wrong about what, but it's known knowledge that for buds to become more potent and dense they should be exposed to direct light. Buds that receive no light will stay small and larfy. Yes I know high intensity light degrades the thc levels which raise back up overnight blah blah, but put shade on a bud and it won't grow lol. So defoliation has been proven to increase yields when done in such a way that it doesn't deprive the plant of energy through photosynthesis etc but if you take a five week flowering plant with buds that big and strip leaves away unnecessarily, you can expect very little increase in bud size or density. I think because two people were responding to you on the topic that it got a little confusing because seaweed was talking specifically about that particular plant while someone else just said you're wrong. The only wrong person in life is the one who's not asking questions and unwilling to learn. I'm no pro but I can teach a thing or two and I most certainly can learn from anyone at any time as long as they know ONE thing that I don't. Keep it clean, respectful, and keep it green fellas

Scorpio, I always value your 1.50 answers. Goes a lot further than the .02 answers so thanks for always putting in that extra 1.48!

In 20-25 years I've had bud rot once, it was lack of air moving lol. Like bud washing washes all the triches off too lol .
Should I drink my was water then ?????

There is a relatively big difference between buds/flowers and fruit. Which means the needs are different which would Imply that yes the buds need direct light to reach their full potential.

THAT BEING SAID...you certainly don't NEED each bud to be in direct light for them to grow.

Even though direct light Isnt achieved with every bud, that doesn't mean that 0 light is getting through. When a bud is covered it will still receive light through the sides of the leaf that aren't covering the light and reflections of the light off of pretty much anything
