First grow - Is this normal?

Ok great shall have a look online for ph stuff
Look online for everything in the garden. It's cheaper if you're looking for small sized supplies like nutes, ropes, trelis net, pH buffer, pH pen, ppm meter, LEDs, HIDs will be cheaper too but I'm not sure if theyre cheaper to ship, pretty much anything you could need or want for your grow besides soil. Like pro mix is insanely expensive to ship so just buy some stuff at your local hydro store and buy the rest on eBay

He spouts misinformation from the beginning so im going to go out on a limb and say he's misinformed.

There it is! I was waiting for somebody to tell me liquid jade dosent know what he's talking about. Lmfao
Please tell me where I said this. I said he's spouting misinformation. That doesn't imply he has absolutely no idea what he's doing, clearly he's doing most things right. However when you determine when to harvest or flush based on pistil hairs, that's misinformation. When you say things like "defoliating will increase your yields" in this person's journal, that's misinformation. So yeah.

Pistils are just an indication, he goes off the trichomes and he states that. Again defoliation increases yield, it has been proven. I won't say it again.
He says very clearly that you need to look for 40% brown hairs to flush, which is misinformation you need to go off of trichs period. Also it's been tested and proven in certain situations, not the one here. So yeah please educate yourself and stop going off on people who challenge your views. Peace.

I think he talks about trichs in that vid, if not he has HUNDREDS of videos and has a huge following for a reason. I'm not going off on anyone just stating facts. You can NOT say defoliation does not increase yields. You just can't say it, PERIOD. Unless facts don't mean anything to you. I'm not telling anyone they have to do it, everybody has the right to grow however they want. But there's a reason ALL the pros, dispensary growers ect do the same thing. Is it best for every application? No, like if I had 50 10ft tall plants growing outside chances are I'm not going to defoliate all that, but for small indoor grows YES. It's not monkey see monkey do its results.

So many ways to skin a cat...but to not accept others opinion doesn't bode well here on these forums, it just starts fights

Especially with defoliation... Some do, some don't, there is no ONLY answer, and to battle someone over it is just being combative, and dosent help anyone

I don't, and gave had great results, ya I'll trim a few big ass leaves on occasion, but usually let my babies do as the please

Anyways, the OPs plants look great

Duuuuuude shut up and listen to me. With the situation on this journal, the tiny little flowering plants that will yield a couple Oz max, you should not defoliate. I have never said at any point that defoliating in general doesn't increase yields, in the right circumstances it does very much so. With THIS circumstance, it won't the stress would be too much. Also I've bought shit weed from dispensaries so that metric doesn't mean shit to me.

I do it as my plants need it, especially when big fan leaves are blocking lower bud sites, like the op stated. Every plant is different I might do some more then others but I don't completely strip them of everything. Every strain is different in how many leaves they have. But in most cases a little bit is good, you just have to be smart with it. Letting a plant run wild is not good practice. And it's exactly the reason why we lst and top. Same concept....
