First grow - Is this normal?

Hi. Just wondering if it's normal for a plants hairs to begin turning brown so early? Have included pics. She doesn't feel "big" enough yet? Cheers in advance

Depends on the strain, how long has she been in flower? The pistils don't really make a difference, a plant is done when the trichomes say they are done. Pistils are just an indicator.

That's normal at least for me and my grows not all but most of my flowering plants get pistols that just a cola or 2 with some pistols flipping colors they won't progress to much more than that and how long are you in flower for? I am guessing week 4 from flip

Next question.. who trims the water leaves? Should I trim some of the bigger ones to allow light to reach the smaller bud growth lower down?

Yes you should defiantly do that, defoliating will increase yields

Some of my best buds are grown under leaves plants use leaves for storage of nutes and they solar panels i.use to remove leaves but now I don't plants need fan leaves for a reason

Again do your research. Plenty of people have conducted test of growing side by side plants one defoliating and one not and EVERY time, you get bigger fatter buds when you do.

I've done it I've been growing over 20 years I've had 36inch colas on plants I've done tests also I wouldn't remove leaves

I'm by far no expert, but wouldn't tucking the leaves be a good alternative?

Yes I don't even tuck buds don't need light leaves do the leaves n plant make the bud the light feeds plant etc my most frosty buds are all under leaves

Was only going to remove some of the lower fan leaves covering the baby buds down the bottom... seems some have differing opinions on this...

I agree with leaving the leaves alone. They are there for a purpose. They store the sugar in the leaves. As for removing them, I do only when they are done and yellowing. I ruined a plants yield by removing leaves prematurely. Didn't help the yield either. PW what do you say?
