Finished crop?

How do i know when my plant is finished? is it bad for he buds to leave the plant to max grow too long? i was just going to cut off 1 branch, but also how long does it need to hang upside down and dry out? sorry i dident figure out how too post a pic.

Its best to to go by size and color of the trichomes. After u do some reading goto Radio Shack and pick up a battery powered, 30X, hand held, microscope so u can view these trichomes (resin glands) up close.
