Fim or top before LST?

Thank you! I haven’t done it yet because I don’t know when to do it. At what node?

Don't go by age, I've seen plants that were 5 weeks old with only three nodes, and I've seen other plants with 5-6 nodes at 3 weeks. Go by nodes, not age (photos). Autos are a whole other thing when it comes to topping, if they're growing well, I will top them once at node 4-5, if they're stalled, I'll let em go "au naturel".

I like to Quadline my plants. To do so on seedlings, I top between the 4th and 5th nodes (the coty's don't count as a node) and try to leave a decent stump which helps prevent splitting later on as the opposing sides get bigger.

Some growers think the first and second node limbs don't produce as well as the next sets higher up.

Edit: I see this is a really old thread...

I'll definitely look into that method but I'm not prolly going to be using it with this week and half old girls here...but thank you very much all of your comments and advice is EXTREMELY APPRECIATED!!!

Why not? Its one topping, and then simple LST until they're ready for flip. Pretty simple and grows great plants.

If you're not convinced, just try it on one plant.

And then next we'll have to get you to come check out #SIP Club ;)

Ok I will definitely look into it with one perhaps I just have to allocate the mental strength to attempt reading learning and implementing tbh lol...but all is much appreciated!!!
4-6 nodes is about right. With autos you kind of have to gauge the plant, if it's growing well I will top it, but only top once!

Edit: BTW, your plants look like they're coming alone very nicely!

Or just start a journal and plenty of growers will offer advice if you ask for it in real time as you go.

If you do that, tag me as I'd like to follow along. :thumb:

Also, are those auto's or photo's?

About how old is early to top them??? At what size nodes grown etc.?? Thank u

you're a ways off for that. i'd concentrate on learning how to grow them out natural first. walk before run.
