You Can Help Pass Federal Medical Marijuana Reform This Year
Dear Zed,
I hope you've had a chance to read the letter I recently sent you in the mail. It contains some important information I want to make sure you hear about.
This summer, Rep. Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) and Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA) will re-introduce a bill that would prevent the U.S. Department of Justice from prosecuting patients who use medical marijuana in compliance with state law. This important bill would prevent the DEA from wasting taxpayer money undermining state medical marijuana laws.
The last time this amendment was offered - in the Republican-controlled House - the amendment failed. We have reason to believe that we can inspire a very different outcome in this year's vote...if we can educate new members of Congress, if we can generate grassroots support, if we can engage the media to magnify the nation's support for medical marijuana.
I am convinced we can succeed. But we need your help.

I need to find the funds to further our educational efforts in Congress. I need to mobilize our grassroots activists across the nation. I need to unleash our experts to make our voice heard in editorial boards, on television news programs, in all major and minor news outlets. And that takes money.
