you dont have to as some ppl say it can shock the plants but then some ppl do.
to be honest i wouldnt because the leaves are the part that capture the light and the more leaves on the plant the more light the plant gets.

usually about 7 days into flush and 4-5 days before harvest, any fans that haven't yellowed and fallen on their own, get trimmed. otherwisw i'm with BB
