Hi all,
My "EYE 1000w HPS enhanced spectrum horticulture bulb" showed up today. I've been using a 400w industrial bulb for 9 months now and the difference is spectacular! My girls are VERY happy.
Can you say "bright as the sun"? I'm here to tell you, this is the brightest bulb I've ever seen. It fills my flower area nicely with a warm light, that if you put your arm under it for a few moments, you feel like you've been to the beach on a hot summer day. You need sunglasses so as not to go blind.
The bulb wasn't cheap, I got it off eBay for 89.00 w/free shipping. If you have the cash for one of these, I highly recommend getting one. I would imagine that any of the "EYE" brand bulbs of any wattage are of equal quality.
There is a bit more heat, but I have adequate ventilation and this is not an issue. I can keep my temps. between 78°f-84°f and 47-54 humidity. This should grow some mighty budZ.
