Former Giants star Leonard Marshall swapped Big Blue for leafy green.

The former Pro Bowl defensive end will appear as one of the keynote speakers at the three-day Cannabis World Congress and Business Expo - coming to the Javits Center on Wednesday.

“I want to educate people about what the cannabis business really is, erase some of the negative stereotypes, and try to participate with some of the advocacy groups,” Marshall told the Daily News.

Marshall will also serve as the moderator at a panel discussion on the use of marijuana to treat chronic brain injuries suffered on the field.

Joining him will be ex-Bears Super Bowl quarterback Jim McMahon, who has openly said medical marijuana helped him stop using addictive narcotics to battle his post-retirement health woes.

“I see marijuana as being a viable treatment for traumatic brain injury and those suffering from it,” Marshall said. “It will help with the impairment, and also with some of the issues associated with pain.”

The event comes as half the U.S. states, plus the District of Columbia, have enacted medical marijuana laws. Recreational pot is legal in Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, Washington and D.C.

The cannabis industry is growing like a weed, according to organizers. And Marshall has a theory on why.

“To be honest, I really believe (cannabis) can help manage pain and mood disorders as an alternative to opioids and addictive pharmaceuticals out there,” he said.

Marshall was particularly enthusiastic about Charlotte’s Web, the medicinal hemp extract.

Organizers note the cannabis industry is projected to gross more than $35 billion a year by 2020, and the Manhattan event provides would-be entrepreneurs with a chance to investigate the prospects.

The conference offers more than 70 different sessions, from “Cultivation Benefits of Greenhouse Growing” to “Tinctures, Tonics & Topicals.”

Attendees can learn about everything from seed banks to finding investors to inventory tracking - hardly a place for the 420 crowd to hang out.

“This is not an end-consumer event,” said Christine Ianuzzi, one of the Cannabis World Congress organizers. “We are providing a very professional attitude, and a marketplace for businesses.”

Title
Rob likes every first letter of a word in the title to be capitalized. ie

Body
Notice how your article is larger than mine? That's because you left the ads and picture captions throughout. Sometimes it's easier to copy small chunks of text at a time so you don't pick up the ads until you are used to deleting them out. Also, if you see long dashes or double dashed in the body of the text, please replace them with short dashes. -

Footer
On the footer, the author should never be linked.
Under the last line, website: , it needs to be just the base web site name, so anything after .com, .org, .gov, etc. would all be deleted, so only the name of the site shows up after you publish, not the article name.

Image
Needs to rectangular.

Please make the corrections and repost. This will help you learn. It will become 2nd nature after a while. :thanks::goodjob:

See if you can leave out the lines which are repeated twice. They are annoying, and unnecessary.

Thank You.
