A former police captain with Parkinson's disease received astonishing results after ingesting medical marijuana for the first time.
Larry Smith, who's suffered from the debilitating ailment for over 20 years, was filmed ingesting CBD oil for a recently released documentary entitled "Ride with Larry."
Cannabidiol (CBD) is a compound found in cannabis that unlike Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) does not produce intoxicating effects. The compound has been found in some studies to have the possibility of "improving quality of life measures in PD patients..."
Meeting with a fellow Parkinson's sufferer in California, Larry, who had previously been hesitant to try CBD, saw his symptoms nearly vanish within just a few minutes.
"With a few drops of cannabis oil under his tongue, Larry's severe dyskinesia (uncontrolled movements), loss of voice, and tremors are calmed within in minutes!" the video's description states. "We didn't even edit the footage because the results were so startling."
"My voice is coming back," Larry notes.
The documentary reveals Larry spent years and years prior to trying CBD oil looking for any treatment that would provide him with relief.
"Larry has exhausted every conventional method of treatment, every drug, and even brain surgery," the film's trailer states.
Following his experience with medical marijuana, the film continues by documenting Larry's 300-mile bike ride across South Dakota aimed at giving hope to others with his disease.
CBD oil has increasingly become a household name in recent years over its potential to aid several medical issues.
Watch below to see what happened when one 5-year-old girl having 300 seizures a week began taking CBD.
