Lol :hmmmm::hmmmm::rofl::rofl:

What's going to charge the batteries that 'run' the generator?

First, let me welcome you and your questions to 420!

I'm not sure if your generator question is based simply around reducing energy costs, or if you are just trying to have a lower profile with your energy provider. Generators do not supply energy at a lower cost than from your energy provider. They do, however, lower your dependance on electricity from your provider.

If you are looking for the lowest possible costs, flourescent lighting is the cheapest. Many people grow very successfully with cfl's. Do they grow the biggest buds for the cheapest amount of energy? That's one for the experts, and they probably would have many different repsonses. :smokin:

Using battery power to turn an electric motor in order to produce 110v or 220v ac? Not the simplest way to pour electricity down the drain, but it's certainly an interesting one.

Or did you just mean a power inverter? They sell those in camping stores so that you can run a coffee pot or whatever off of your vehicle's power. But if you are running so many thousand watts of lighting (etc.) that you have cause to worry about your electric bill then an inverter isn't going to cut it.

That question(?) has at least one too many words in it. Best and cheapest almost never go together and cheapest and biggest (buds) NEVER do.

For cheapest look at CFLs.

For best, look at a good quality HPS setup (at least for flowering). For biggest buds... I dunno, enough HPS lighting to produce more than 75 watts per square foot of grow room (depending on how much supplemental CO2 you're planning on giving the plants). Many use 1000-watt setups for the most power from each light. Others go with 600-watt ones because they are somewhat more efficient. Still others go with 400-watt ones because they are a little cheaper.

Or - arguably - an LED setup if you've got lots of ready cash. But definitely not something you can find on eBay. (Some of our sponsors sell LEDs.)
