On Monday, August 17, the Englewood City Council will vote on imposing a
6-month moratorium on new medical cannabis dispensaries in the city limits. The City Council is concerned about zoning issues, but they are also concerned that if they impose a moratorium, they will lose important tax revenues as dispensaries open in other locations.
How you can help:
1) Attend the meeting on Monday night. You sign up on the comment sheet when you arrive to be heard as an "unscheduled speaker".
Englewood Civic Center
2nd Floor Council Chambers
1000 Englewood Parkway Englewood, CO Meeting begins: 7:30pm Phone: 303-762-2316
2) Email the Englewood City Council mailto: council@englewoodgov.org
Ask them respectfully to vote against the moratorium on new dispensaries: a) It will harm patients by limiting their access to medicine to the handful of dispensaries that are currently operating. b) It will harm patients by forcing them to travel farther to obtain medicine. c) It will eliminate important new tax revenue for the city.
