The El Centro City Council voted Tuesday night 5-0 to continue the current suspension on the application process for permits for medical marijuana dispensaries.
Applications were originally due Monday, October 17.
The city government and city attorney will meet to develop different scenarios for having dispensaries in El Centro.
Council members are waiting to see what the ruling is on the appeal for a case concerning dispensaries.
Several councilmembers expressed concern over the city being brought into a lawsuit and how a crackdown could affect people renting out property to dispensaries.
The issue is set to be revisited in February.
