hi just a quicky ,i was woundering what this stands for .

i was watching some skunk videos and they said they use 1.6 EC,prolly some fert,anyhelp would be great

The Enzyme Commission number (EC number) is a numerical classification scheme for enzymes, based on the chemical reactions they catalyze. As a system of enzyme nomenclature, every EC number is associated with a recommended name for the respective enzyme.

Strictly speaking, EC numbers do not specify enzymes, but enzyme-catalyzed reactions. If different enzymes (for instance from different organisms) catalyze the same reaction, then they receive the same EC number. By contrast, UniProt identifiers uniquely specify a protein by its amino acid sequence.[1]

EC stands for "electrical conductivity". It's the amount of electrical charge in a reservoir when using chemical salts in a hydroponic set up. A EC meter reads the charge and determines the concentration of salts or PPM. To fully understand it, one should read up on how to measure the salts in a nutrient reservoir.
A side note...all PPM meters read the nutrient concentrations in EC form and internally convert it to a PPM reading. EC is a more accurate way to read nutrient concentrations.

Yes. It doesn't have to be converted to be used. PPM meters read in EC and convert to PPM. Because of this need for conversion there is a greater chance for error.
