Does it hurt the production?

So I am finishing my first grow. I have three plants in flower. they are starting to create little cola's.. however I made a rookie mistake early on and used too much Nitrogen. So all my tips were burnt. SO I decided to cut all the fan leaves that made sense (minimal frost). So the question is does cutting most of the fan leaves affect the plant in a negative way?

Yes, leaves are the engine driving plant growth. Just trim away the ones shading the lower bud sites.
