Does anyone own the Carson MicroBrite Plus 60x-120x LED Lighted Pocket Microscope?

If so, how does it stack up to it's high review score? I would only be using it to primarily see trichomes so I know when to harvest as well as identifying creepy little crawlys that might get on my plant.

That device is only $14 CAD on Amazon, so I'm a little hesitant to trust something that seemingly cost so little. BUT, it falls completely in line with my budget grow!!

Does it do the job?

Hi bobj, I also use the Carson MicroBrite Plus... it works great. It takes some getting used to, in order to hold it steady enough on the bud while viewing, but with some practice it's no problem.

My technique is to set the focus before I try to view a bud on the plant, e.g. just set it on a table and view the table cloth, and dial it in (60x is plenty). Now, it's ready to examine a bud on the plant.

Buds that are around eye level work best, and then I stabilize myself as best I can (wide stance), gently cradle the bud with my left hand, and then set the scope just kissing the bud with my right hand, right above a spot of heavy trichomes (w/ the scope's LED up, toward the top of the plant). Now I can adjust the focus by making micro movements either in (toward) the bud, or out (away) from the bud. (By movements I mean just moving the whole scope either in or out by very slight amounts, not using the focus settings.) You'll get solid views of the trichomes in find detail, and can easily assess if they are clear, milky, or amber.
