Does anyone else do this?

Hey all so I'm curious, so we all know photo period plants require 18/6 in veg 12/12 in flower with no light leaks. And for autos I keep reading different stuff, such as 24/0 or a variety all the way down to 12/12....for both and all plants its said they need lights off or rest time..... Well for my last grow (completed) and for this grow I have been running my lights 24/7 but with variation in the strength. So I run the light %80 power from 6a.m to midnight, and then at night time I leave it on but turn it down to %25... As lower starts to make an annoying pitch sound. My last grow had some issues to start which progressed to the end... But as far as my current grow they are all healthy and growing with good speed and fullness.

So I would like to know if anyone else has done this or similar with same results?

Hey Happy, good day at work today?
You saw my perpetual veg room in my Gorilla Glue clone thread.
24 and 0 365 for years.
I'd lower the light right down to next to nothing when I wanted slow growth.
Just a few hrs a day.
It's called twilight or twilighting.
Helps give them a rest.
Take your foot off the gas pedal for a bit.
Helps with root growth.
But doesn't stop photosynthesis completely.
Never building up the hormone for flowering, in the dark period.
Then when I was ready to go to flower once a month.
I'd leave it turned up for a week.
Increasing growth getting ready for the bright lights in the flower room.
There is a decent result with that. ;)

Stay safe

Never heard of that, but if it works.

Personally, I think there is benefit for a certain period of dark time. Both for plants and your wallet.
The cost to run the lights and everyday things for a month is only like $50 tops each month even in winter... So we're not to worried about the cost... But I know there is benefits to "sleep" but is it that much of a noticeable benefit? I'm thinking maybe for regular cannabis plants yes beneficial with night...but for autos they will basically grow and flower under almost any time light source due to being genetically modified... But your right if it working it working lol may not work all the time.

Awesome thanks bill makes me feel better knowing there is 1 a name for what I'm doing and 2 that's it's something others do to.... Could you tell a difference? Like did you have another tent with similar aged plants that were getting the normal 18/6-12/12 and one being twilighted? Sorry lol you super sparked my interest.

Cloner 24/7 t5 10 to 12 days.
Clone room 24/7 led low light thought.
Never full blast. 2 to 4 weeks.
Veg room year 1 and 2 were 24/7 full blast.
2-3 400w led's for 1-2-3 months it varied.
Just concentrating on the flower rooms at first.
Probably year 3 I started experimenting with timing in the veg room.
1-2-3-4 hrs darkness logging diligently growth of about 20 - 30 girls at a time.
Then I came across the term reading about a big grow in Cali.
I think?
Memory isn't great ,Twilight I think they called it.
Thought I'd try it and there was a noticeable difference in roots and overall plant health.
I think size too but it got so overgrown I can't swear to that.
Then I'd crank up the lights for a week pull out 8 or 10 and put them into the first flower room.
There were 2 600 w @ViparSpectra 's running 12/12 . Room #1
For one month.
Then into the bigger flower room #2 for a month.
There were 3 @vipar900w in there.
I'd try and hustle everyone through as quickly as possible but still produce great bud.
All the actual records loged in note books are gone since the fire so I can't give the actual numbers.
But that light schedule worked quite well for years. ;)
Let me know if I missed anything.

Stay safe
