Hey folks! Welcome to my grow journal!

Some of you may remember me from 420mag, other forums, IG, etc. If not, no big deal. None of us has anything to prove and you're all welcome here as long as you're respectful to others.

I joined 420mag and in doing so started learning to grow in 2017. I've grown fairly steadily since then, but have had a couple of shutdowns for life. I'm just back at it after about a year and a half away.

While I am very happy with my techniques, I'm rusty, and I'm always open to learning new things. I dialed in my approach about 5 years ago, so I've pretty much lived in a time capsule since then with respect to growing techniques. If you can suggest a better way for me to do things at any point of my grow I'm all ears.

I run 3 tents. I have a Gorilla propagation tent and 2 AC Infinity 4x4s for veg and flower. I propagate under T5s, run veg under super old Viparspectra blurples, and flower under Samsung LED diodes.

I grow in coco. I hand feed nute solution daily. I grow in fabric pots. I do a fair bit of plant maintenance throughout the grow, but I'll be keeping these hunts a little more simple than my trained big plants. I'm a big believer in Dr. Ziggy's Low and Slow. When I harvest, I chop branches to the size that can hang in my fridge (not enough room for the whole plant) and dry as slow as I can, aiming for ~3 weeks. I then dry trim.

I'm starting out 2025 with regs. In December I started a half pack of Lemon Larry Lavender by Big Buddy Seeds, a half pack of Blackout Truffle F2 by t3rp fiend, and a half pack of Bubba's Fire by swiipkiidon / Coalition Seed Co. 3 of my Bubba's Fire didn't pop but I have 8 each of the others. So I have 21 plants in solo cups in veg.

I'm about ready to cut clones at this point. My plan is to cut clones and pot up slightly to a small fabric pot, then when I see the clones have rooted, flower the potted plants. I'll pull the males, but might hang onto a male or three for future fun.

I don't expect things to be as showy as my old grows, at least not yet - 10-12 small plants is a different beast from 4 big ones in 3 gallon pots. But that will come again in time. My plan is to hunt a few packs I have on hand for the next couple of rounds, then I'll switch to flowering 4 big ones at a time cloned from my selected moms for a bit.

Future grows should include some Lemon Larry Lav crosses to classic cuts, some Face on Fire crosses so I can hunt for more wifi goodness (shout out to my Peyote grow crew from way back when), and a few other randoms. I had to ditch my prized Chocolope mom among others when I last shut down, so the next little bit is about rebuilding the roster of keepers.

Setting expectations with respect to update frequency / my presence. I am in no way committed to frequent updates anymore. I found it became a chore in the past. So I'll update when I feel like it!

Don't hesitate to jump in at any time.

My basic setup. Pics are a few days old. Flower tent needs to be filled obviously but that’ll happen by the end of the coming weekend.

Scrambled to find a few pics of past work to prove it's not my first rodeo!

I'm a big fan of coco.
Mind if I tag along?

Stay safe
Bill284 😎

I will tag along with you if that's ok.
Been growing in coco for years.
I see you got two superstars tagging along already. Bill and Shed are two that will give you lots of info.

Greetings @DobeWan

Have you considered hempy/perlite style ?

You can easily adjust the size of your pot to accommodate your space/number of plants..

I still want to try a plastic air pruning pot. You know, the ones with the holes all over the sides, also available in different sizes. The ones I'm looking at come apart and are reusable.

Or 5 gallon SIP's, DIY or GroBucket inserts

About the easiest system to water. When the reservoir gets low, fill it up 😆

Girls are happy even a day or so after the reservoir is dry, for whatever reason you let that happen :yahoo:

Cheers

I tried Hempies a few years ago. Pain in the ass hand watering daily.
Switched to Coco and have not looked back.

And how were you watering the coco, size of container, etc. ?

It likes to be wet 😆

Cheers
I built this a few years ago.
55 gallon Reservoir, only use max of 40 gallons with a black 35 gallon waste can, seen in front of the rez.
3 gallon/min @ 65 psi RV pump with a 12 volt converter, Y filter and a filter in the Orbit 8 port manifold.
8 port Orbit manifold
Rainbird stream emitters
The Reservoir, and you can see the waste can in front of the reservoir. Sitting to the left of the rez on the floor is the waste collection pot with pump that sends the waste to the waste can. That was part of the Flo and Grow system I tried a while back, ebb and flow and I could never get it dialed in.

The 8 port Orbit manifold, only using 6 ports at present.

This worked extremely well for me.

Hope this helps.
