I'm with the otter, up-pot...you can do this by letting the soil dry out to the point the plant is drooping...it sucks the soil away from the inside of the pot so it's easier to use a butter knife (or whatever) to go around the edges to loosen it up...in the future may I suggest nursery pots, they're flexible and easy to squeeze for transplanting...or fabric and air pots will "air prune" the roots so it does't become root bound :thumb: :goodluck:

Usually when my girls start bending like the 1 on the right...it's cuz they're root bound and trying come out of the pot...
and if it's too tuff to get them out of those pots...you could always break the pot off...couple taps with a hammer and we have a party

I have the bigger pots just can't get them out stoneotter should I do anything possibale to get them out? Iv been trying for days don't want to hurt them.
Water them a day before you try to unpot. Then, tipped upside down in your hand, bang the bottom with the other hand. If that doesn't work, I'd run something like a hacksaw blade or thin knife blade around the pot. You won't hurt them, just keep the blade touching the pot. Have the new pot ready.

That's a good idea.

Ya il probably break them guys have I long before I have to do it??
I can keep mine root bound for days

seriously tho, how often are you watering? If it's every other day, getting close to every day then yep sooner the better...if there's 2 days in between then you have a little bit :thumb:

You can also let the plants go longer in the pot and force them to be rootbound and create a huge rootball mass(rootbound plants will almost slide right out with very little soil loss). If you are watering that size pot every other day, there ready to come out of there and spread there wings. A good watering, let dry out for a day, and use a butter knife would have worked to. Personally, I don't use clay so breaking it isn't a bad idea unless you wanted to put something else in the pot later. I recently just removed a 3gal smart pot(roots embedded in fabric) giving her a good watering the night before. The smart pot was still moist and slid right off smooth as butter.

She looks healthy and has a nice trunk started for the plants age. Keep it Green! :yummy:
