My first Grow journal.
For anyone who wants to cultivate their own medicine, but can't ...or won't spend money on expensive HID and LED lights, or can't take the time to learn and get some sort of hydroponics going. This is a very low budget grow. From bag seed.
Budget Materials -
Seeds $XX.XX - [ However much money spent on the bag of meds ]
CFLs $14.78 - [ 6x 23 watt 2700k ] for flowering/budding cycle
$14.78 - [ 6x 23 watt 6500k ] for vegetative cycle
$10.97 - [ Under cabinet fluorescent "grow" light ]
Lighting Supplies $5.34 - [ 2x Light Socket extension ]
$4.94 - [ 2x Light Socket Twin Spliter ]
Grow Container $2.24 - [ 5x Jiffy Peat Pots ]
$XX.XX - [ 3 gallon buckets ( was given them free from uncles restaurant )
Fertilizer, $12.98 - Liquid Blooming fertilizer ( Monty's Root & Bloom 2-15-15 )
Plant Food-
Soil- $$XX.XX - Soil taken from outdoor, very fertile and balanced flower bed )
Total Start-up Cost - estimated $85* (*provided the fact that you had some bag seed and didn't have to purchase seeds, also providing you used free soil from your yard and you managed to get a few buckets to use to transplant into. )
Prep Work: Germination technique: Places seeds in a covered cup of room temp. distilled water for 24 hours. Fill up peat pots with soil. Sew the "soaked" seeds 1/4 inch into soil. Make sure the medium is well soaked. In 2 days time with no attention given at all, this little lady right below popped up. Be patient, and you never know what you can grow from usually undesired seeds
DAY 1: From seed to seedling:
Day 1 - Birth of seedling
Day 1 Seedling
....another seed finally popped, I ended up pulling it out later
Day 3: Veg cycle
Day 5: Veg Cycle
Week 3: Veg Cycle
Tasks: Transplanted the seedlings into 3 gallon buckets. Fill buckets with soil. If using peat pots as described in the materials list, you can simply plant the whole pot right into the new soil as the roots grow right through the peat pots. Started giving plant basic 20-20-20 every other watering.
Day 20: Flowering/Budding Cycle
Work: Started feeding plant 2-15-15 every other watering on a 3 day watering cycle. Day 1: Nutrientst+water Day 2: Water Day 3: No watering
Day 23 Flower
Day 23 Flower
Day 23 Flower
More pics to come, should be a fun flowering cycle for my first grow.
