DIY Grow Box 2nd Grow

How have you been Dro?

Yes she does have alot of buds sites bro. Thanks for that info about how much of a pain in the azz mylar is, tin foil is a pain in the azz as well. May I ask what is a IR shield? Never mind I'll just google it...lol
I've been good thanks for asking
Mylar is thinner than tinfoil, so you can only imagine how much of a headache it is. i forgot to mention that panda film or white/black poly would also be great papers, and dont contain heat like IR does sometimes ;)

So I went to the new shop here in town. BC HYDRO The owner is really cool and the prices are decent. I got to see all the new and high tech grow gadgets, hydro systems and the name brand nutes and soils that I see every one use here on 420. So we bull sh!ted around for a while and I think that place will be my second home.

I did not get any panda film or mylar but I did but a Root Riot humidy dome that came with free clonex. So I went home and attempted to clone our 1024. I took 10 clones and we will see how many produce roots.
Here are a few photos..

The 1st one will be of our dome.

Next is a few photos of our new clones..
In this 1st photo you see the lone clone all by her lonely in the back left if she roots, she will have two main colas. I wish my camera was better but oh well.

Sorry for all the bury photos, maybe one day I'll get a good camera....

hi MI, good luck with the clones brother.

If you go with mylar you can tape it to cardboard and it'll last longer and clean easily.

Congrads on a hydro store. Now you can be like a kid in a candy store. I wood suggest some anti wilt by vita grow. It's atad costy but put it in a spray bottle and just shake it up when ever ya clone. It does work. It kind of puts a wax like coating on the leaves so they don't transpire. Well soon as legal meds hit then hydro stores, and next,,,,,,,,, a COFFEE SHOP. Least thats what happened here. We have a Coffee shop downtown Portland. I've yet to go tho. Maybe after the 1st when they throw a UA on me at the Doc's. Looks good Dude. And yes I see the white buds aforming. Cool

I was a kid in a candy store, I was astounded by all the gear they had. Those 42" reflector hoods was only 129 bucks compatable with either HPS or MH. Hummmm it gave me a couple ideas on how to build our DIY light.

"Anti wilt by Vita Grow" I'll have to check it out and remember that for future cloneing adventures.

A coffee shop would so damn awesome here in this town or area for that matter.

Always good to hear from ya NCW

I've used the free lil foil clonex(and used a lighter to reseal the sample bag) its pretty good. I had a good percentage of my clones root ;)

Thanks Dro, I'm glad to hear I got your support my friend. Lord knows I'm new to all of this....

Now about our clones I created a new journal just for our new adventure. Here is the link Our new adventure 2010 The main reason is not to get myself confused. I hope all of you share your advice with us there as well.

I love my hydro store too, I try to stay away from it though, spend way to much money every time I go. Any way enough about me good luck with your clones. I am sure they will be big huge ladies in a month or so...

I really appreciate this statement. I was laid off in October, my company fought my unemployment and I'm starting to feel that way myself. I was pretty well to do before the lay-off (atleast for a 28 year old). Alas to say, the saving that took me years to amass was gone within four months.

Anyways, not to get off topic but maybe I should use my experience and knowledge of the financial industry to start a financial firm that specializes in all things medical marijuana. Unfourtunately, there is only one MM company on the market, and I think it's still in pink sheets. But I could connect interested investors with co-ops....

Just a thought! sorry to hijack the thread ;-)

Being from Michigan I understand how many jobs have been loss throught-out our country and so many from just our state alone.

Dude you need to to that bro, for real man!! Please make sure to help us poor people with really bad credit as well. lol I screwed up my credit when I was 19 and can get back on top unless I win the lottery or something like that.

Yea I was working two jobs and lost them both in the matter of 3 months in 2008. Havent worked since! But shortly after I lost my second job I did start going to nursing school and im going to finish soon, but its been close to two years of no official work. Last year I was(november, december) i was working for a blockbuster that was going outta business, and I had to hold the "going outta business sign" for them. December was no joke. And it was only $40 a day for 5 hours. Sounds decent, except we were only supposed to get 15 min break and were out in the cold on the corner holding the sign up lol. The things ppl do when they need diapers and seeds *smh*

You do what you have to when it comes to the necessities. (I don't think I spelt that right) I have been umemployed from Dec of last year. I GET MY UNEMJOYMENT CHECK EVERY TWO WEEKS, I have to be thankful for it but I wish I was back to work. Oh well It is what it is.

Having this as a hobby/job really help passes the time. It's always been a dream to grow herb and get paid for it. What more can you ask for... :yahoo::rollit:

I know what you mean when little ones are involved, even if you don't want to you have to do it for the $$$$$...

Hey Buddy What a very nice little lady. Bud sites everywhere.:ganjamon:
I would go for the flat white paint. Even the cheap stuff reflects 90 %. I have it in both my grow boxes and wouldn't trade for anything else. Cheap and works. :yummy:

I didn't lose my job, I retired and then the bottom dropped out. Food prices, taxes, and cost of everything went up. Don't know what gasoline is back there, but it $3.30 a gallon here.. Hawaii is a very expensive place to live.
What was a comfortable retirement is now check to check.
Poor all of us. :smokin2:

I hear that 1024 is good stuff and now you have clones. Great:ganjamon:
Clones look good so far.:ganjamon:

Well, one thing I find comfort in is that I'm not the only poor soul in this country! Lol. The funny thing about poverty is that it sure has become cushier the more years go on.

I remember my grandfather telling me a story about trying to keep the family farm alive during the depression. He wasn't very old, maybe 14 or 15 when the family had to try to sell off most of the farm for pennies on the dollar and then move 11 brothers and sisters and two parents into an 1100 sq. ft house in town. He said that the last harvest they were able to unload, they literally made about 20% of the year's previous value of crop.

Him and three brothers shared the basement of the house while his seven sisters had to share a single bedroom upstairs. My great grandfather was lucky enough to get hired on with Union Pacific, but it meant little pay and long hours from home. I remember him also telling me how his mother tried desperately to find a job, but people just didn't hire women for most jobs back then.

Nowadays, being impoverished means that you barely have enough money to cover some or all your bills, you probably have internet and a computer and most likely an automobile of some sort. You probably also have a cell phone if you're poor.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that poverty isn't a problem or anything. I just think it's silly that we live in a country where we can be considered poor, yet we can afford things like cellphones and computers but be damned if we want to own a house or have decent healthcare.

I read an article a few years ago that showed the disparity in wages from the 70's until now. By 1979, the minimum wage was $2.85/hr and the average Household income was $17,500 and the median poverty limit was about $3,850.

Prices of various things in 1979 -
Median cost of a new house: $62,500
Median cost of rent: $240
Gallon of Gas: $0.60
Average new car: $5,000

Skip ahead thirty years, and you'll see a tremendous disparity.
Median cost of a new house: $241,700 (3.8x higher)
Gallon of Gas: $2.80 (4.6x higher)
Average new car: $27,500 (5.5x higher)

Minimum wage? $7.25/hr (2.5x higher)
Average household income? $50,300 (2.8x higher)
And where's the average poverty level sit in this day and age? For a family of 5, it's $28,500.... or 7.4x as high as it was in 1979.....

Numbers don't lie. America is in shambles.

congrats on the lil lady... keep her happy bud :grinjoint::peace:+reps

:welcome: Weaver and Thanks for the rep my friend!!:yahoo:

3.30 wow it's around 2.50 give or take 10 cents or so here.

I'm going with panda film, we will be picking it up today. Its only 12 bucks for 10'x10' and I dont have to wait for it to dry, being winter time and I really not looking 4word to the cold air flowing in...lol I just have to wait until tomorrow to put it up. I can't wait though, I'm kinda wondering what it will look like. (all white and bright in there, I hope our ladies love it)

I bet it does cost alot living on the islands. Sorry to hear about your situtation but I understand your pain my friend. My dad is semi-retired and lives on a limited budget. I get to listen to him all the time, he will be 65 this year.. Times are hard for everybody now-a-days unless you are wealthy..lol

I heard 1024 was really good as well, can't wait until April and we harvest our lil lady. :rollit:
Always good to have to stop by OMM.
