Diverticulitis

Hi everyone! Well, this is kind of embarrassing, but here goes nothing. I was hospitalized in the ER last November for Diverticulitis. Which means that I had small pockets in my intestines that were infected, as well as inflammation of the colon. I was on antibiotics for a while and it went away. It came back in February of this year and they put me back on the same antibiotics after I saw my general physician. She sent me to a specialist for liver and GI problems. My liver has also been cramping up due to drinking alcohol, which I have basically quit all together. I asked the specialist if it was okay to smoke weed. And she responded that it is a great solution, especially edibles. But if the diverticulitis continues, I may need surgery on my intestines. Also have a liver/abdomen imaging appointment in May & colonoscopy and endoscopy later on. They keep pushing my appointments back due to this social distancing corona virus thing. But anyways, just wanted to share with you guys and see if you have any advice on specific strains for these issues. If anyone else has had these issues please give me some advice, because I am pretty scared... I hope everything turns out fine. But yeah, just wanted to share that Weed also helps with these issues. With the pain, discomfort, and GI problems. :/ Stay in good health everyone, and good luck!

Bahh sorry Diverticulitis is no fun! I had it as a younger lad in my 20's and 30's, because I was young they didn't call it that, they called it "pelvic abscess' or some such, but it was that. 7 inches of sigmoid removed. It wasn't a pleasure, but I prevailed! You will also.

Not only did your post peak my interest because of our shared issue, but also because it runs directly into a awesome edible thread that might springboard you into the world of medical edibles with one of our best medicinal advocates/innovators @SweetSue. If it's not in my sig it's gonna be! In the past I never really did well with edibles...this might not be exactly what you are looking for but it certainly will get you started. CHeers Fred, keep us posted, good luck to you mate!

Thanks for the support Pbass, now I know I'm not alone. That sounds very painful. Yeah, I'm wondering what her logic was behind promoting the edibles. Is there really evidence to support that edibles are good for these problems? At first, when I would eat a weed brownie or any edible I would throw up. But I have learned to take it slowly and in doses, and the high is actually very nice! I want to learn how to make edibles because they are really pricey at the stores. I will check out SweetSue. Thanks!

It was painful, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger bro. Do not fear, only grit your teeth and set your resolve for full steam ahead to better, and you will arrive I promise.

I found edibles just didn't do much for me, probably because I have a high metabolism and well built tolerance. After finding that thread, I began cooking it and eating it straight with fatty food. To tell you the truth after thinking about it it's really the only way I can get enough in me to have weed hit me hard any more. I usually eat a tablespoon of cooked weed at a time, Im stoned to the bone and don't even think to smoke it for hours. Like a trip man! It I will tell you it doesn't always settle well in my stomach though...nothing new there though so I don't sweat it. But i also don't grind it fine and eat way too much at a time.

<Cut the other lines>
Most likely she is hoping to prevent you from self-medicating with the alcohol. At least that is my thoughts on it. Not only is to much alcohol rough on the liver but it also messes with the autoimmune system from what I have heard. And, with the corona virus situation you mentioned, and which most doctors were aware of by January, the last thing someone wants is a compromised immune system, especially without a vaccine available.

At least that is my thoughts on it based on talking and listening to doctors and people in the battle against the corona virus.

Good luck. Think positive.

Thank you for the words of encouragement, I really appreciate it!

do canna pills.. on a cbd and thc canna pill regimen, coupled with a simple fibre supplement and proper diet.

works great. but you need to be on a steady diet of happy things to make it happen. :)
was considered pre-cancerous. colonoscopy revealed entire colonies of polyps. a year later counted on one hand. doctor dumbfounded.

daughter of a friend had more dramatic results. important to note we were both pre-cancer.

Hang in there Freddy, I've been dealing with diverticulitis for over 20 years now. I developed it in my early 40's and went thru a year of pain and different courses of antibiotics until they had do surgery and remove a 20"setcion of my intestines. Since then I have managed to keep it at bay, I have the occasional laps where I eat a box of donuts to deal with depression or stress I'll get a pain in my lower gut and remember what I went thru and get back on track. So stay on your diet and eat plenty of fiber.
