I also have 600 w cool tube and I can get mine about within foot from top with exhaust going and fan blowing on light.The plants will tell you if you are to close.- Thread starter

I just got my light today..I got them 4 feet tall with T 8 soft white..right on top of plants/my babys..The hose is not here yet..I have a 250 CFM duct fan running..9 X 12 room and its hot in there 79 almost 80...I will cut hole in floor and blow heat into cellar through a heater register mounted to blow into basement..I feel the light gets too hot around 1 foot...so I have them a 20 inches or so...just 4 plants huddled together...clones in a closet I converted..Having a lot of fun..the clones are 2 weeks old..slow to root..
You may be better having it suck the hot air out.Im not sure but are you thinking of blowing air into your house vent system?That may push smell through out your house.I to am a newbe and have been doing decent with clone machine,also doing closet grow.You should check out my journal.(Jimmy6000 first attempt).

no sir...cutting a new hole for its own vent strait into cellar...I will also try sucking with the duct fan...but i think as small as it is it needs to blow..It was been on all day and you can place hands all over light...I was just in there adjusting reflector...hint..the reflector has a plastic coating...tee hee... They seem to like the extra light my friend..looking all lush and new growth all over.Leaves are standing at attention..and the leaning plant i turned away from light and now its standing up heading for the light...

My clones are in the closet...my flower room is 9x12...there on MH for now ..monday we go 12/12 and HPS...I am flushing plants with strait water...then i will go to Cal mag and a higher potassium diet with the nuit';s...light feeding every other time..one water ..one nuit's..wish me luck!!and thanks..
That's funny you mentioned that protective plastic,because I was so excited I did not see the shit.
I to am also going in to try and induce flowering, as today I have started the 24/36 hour dark period.Gonna be doing some nute program changes myself.
So I will be following and learning as we are almost in same boat.

I use floragrow,And florabloom,I mix floragrow 1/3 strength for the babys..go easy on the nuit's..half strength only...unless there really sucking water...give the recommended at that time... don't get nuit burn like i did..... especially with Cal mag in your mix...I use fruit tree spray ..1 per week....get under the leaves..its good for everything..
I'm almost full strength with hydro chart feeding.only the hempys tho.Soil ,about half the recommended.

If your trying to vent out smell, I wouldn't vent it in your basement without some kind of a filter.. It will seep into your living area and you'll still smell it. Get it outside somehow. (Through your sewer or up a chimney.)

thanks..nope..dont care about smell..I like it..its just heat im concerned with..also..Im legal..I dont want light coming up the tube...my is DARK..thats why my buds are so big..loving live..peace..
