You would think her pals at the "Psychic Friends Network" would have warned her.
Dionne Warwick was arrested Sunday at Miami International Airport for allegedly carrying 11 suspected marijuana cigarettes inside an empty lipstick container. The five-time Grammy winner was charged with possession of less than 5 grams of marijuana but was released after signing an affidavit promising to appear in court on an unspecified date, The Associated Press reports.
If convicted, Warwick, 61, could face a misdemeanor charge punishable by up to one year in jail.
Warwick was in Miami to receive an award Saturday night and was due to fly back to Los Angeles early the next day, but she was forced to catch a later flight when baggage screeners noticed the lipstick container at around 7:30 a.m. Sunday morning.
The singer's sister, Dee Dee Warwick, told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that she is certain Dionne doesn't use drugs and thinks someone planted the cigarettes on her.
However, Ruth Bowen, a friend of Warwick's who lives in Miami Beach, told The Miami Herald that the singer uses the drug to combat glaucoma.
